Last frame was cute, though I wouldn't classify MC Hammer as "groovy" so much.

Talked about it some last night in vent (before Decocks got bored of my blathering on, maybe I'll do a write-up in the TOR thread when I hit 50), but soloing elites as a sniper can be tricky. I'm squishy as hell, my companions aren't that great, and a lot of my CDs/stuns require me to be within 10 yards (my shooting range is 35). When I get jumped by like 4 mobs in the scripted battles it's generally a frantic race to kill a few as quick as possible, not pulling aggro on everything (or I'll die) and not letting my companion pull aggro on everything (or he'll die). If there's a tough elite/champion level mob I usually have to stunlock in melee then kite like a mofo. I wonder how the raids are going to turn out, because you can cheese some of the dungeons by kiting bosses around obstacles - I solo'd the first couple of dungeons by pillar humping the shit out of dudes and popping out to dot. Took forever, but interesting to have the option to run like a pussy.

Oh for those that don't know the reference. http://massively.joy...nemies-spirits/
Oh early MMO's are like the wild west.

I think the only new MMO I'm looking forward to is Guild Wars 2 since the concept of destroying the holy trinity is pretty appealing if only because someone is doing something different. Hopefully there will be some more news of a release this year.

Hah! Didn't know that was an actual thing, I'll have to try it sometime.

Shrug, I still haven't gotten that much time to play, but I've enjoyed my time so far. The class storyline is worth the price of admission. If I just end up leveling the 8 classes to 50 and quitting that's fine with me.

Warning. Bannable offense apparently. Use with caution.

True enough. I would pick it up if I had more gaming time. I just finished the new Zelda (fucking awesome btw) and have Arkham City up next. I also still only have like 2 hours played in Skyrim so I should put some more time into that. Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D land also kept me pretty busy recently. #Firstworldproblems.

Yeah I started on Arkham City and it seemed awesome, just seems like I should at least finish my first TOR character before I pick it back up again. And I know I'd get a kick out of starting another Skyrim game (lost my save when I reformatted anyway), but not right now. Also, can totally relate:

Aw man I'm really starting to doubt that I haven't turned you into a redditor! Succumb to the dark side. Also I enjoyed the crap out of Arkham Asylum. It really surprised me how polished and satisfying the combat system was. I think I'm going to start playing Arkham City this weekend. Debating on starting it on Hard or not. I played through Arkham Asylum a second time on Hard and it was a lot more fun not having any notifications in combat; made you feel like more of a badass when you tore up mobs of enemies.

That exploit is hilarious. Austin Powers would be proud.

I leveled a Commando up to about 30 with the dps companion the whole time, because my combat strategy was to have my companion pull, have me blast the snot out of it until I pulled aggro and then the rest of the fight was me either kiting the mob(s) or playing LoS games with it until it died. It actually worked pretty well and I was able to solo a good bit more than I expected, but fights were either super fast (if I could burst them down quickly) or took FOREVER. Since it felt like it was getting worse as I leveled and I was missing playing a tank, I swapped to a Counselor Shadow which has been great fun. I honestly don't know why everyone doesn't play them. You can tank, melee dps, ranged dps, stealth and do decent self-healing all with the same build, though you can certainly shift specs to do various things better. I'm going full tank but the dps is better than I expected.

I'm enjoying the Jedi counselor sage spec, I started a Knight sentinel once I hit 20 I got a tad bored and missed healing so I rerolled to the sage, also helps that my cousin who I play pretty much all the time with is running a counselor shadow so he can tank and dps. So far I am extremely happy with SWTOR, the story is great and at least for me makes leveling not so grindy, specially because most of the missions/quests aren't just go kill 20 guys. I like how they made the kill X # of mobs the bonuses and the main missions are objectives so if you don't feel like grinding out 50 kills of whatever mob you just move on. The space missions are fun enough dailies that I don't seem to get bored yet with them and they are also hella fun! Very worth the $50 and $14 a month in my opinion.

I'm on Darth Bandon or something like that, east coast PVE. But I haven't logged on in like 3 weeks, been pretty busy. Hit 50 on the agent and have a sorcerer up to 20-something.

Vanguards are fun, though I only got one up to like level 20 or something. Being the person who shoulder tackles sith lords and then beats them to death with the stock of your rifle is pretty bad ass.

i was just being a cunt, i totally agree, one character i plan on leveling in the nearer future is a Vanguard. It reminds me of playing mass effect, which is my favorite game series of all time.

I thought being a cunt was your favorite game series of all time?

On the Guild Wars 2 topic, found out my friend from school who's helping develop that game is actually writing shit for them. Seems like a badass job to me. #jealous

So she got the one paying writing gig remaining in the universe, and you're SoL like the other bajillion wannabes. There are so many "freelance" writers in NYC it's not even funny. Easy lay though, they have plenty of time on their hands and are too poor to go anywhere.
