It probably doesn't help if I admit to owning one of those battery powered plastic mini cars you can ride in when I was little >_>

I don't know if this is the case where all of you live, but in Georgia childhood obesity is on the rise and the school systems have just done away with recess after lunch..... WTF are they thinking??? Their reasoning.... PE wasn't fair for all children. The fat kids weren't being included.

I heard on the news the other day that the government came in and took a child away from his parents. Apparently the child was 8 years old and weighed over 200lbs. Those parents should be shot.

Yea childhood obesity is actually a pretty big problem here. Recently around the city we have been putting up billboards with fat kids on them talking about childhood diabetes and also running commercials on the subject. It's sad to see a kid that is pretty much just fucked up from the start and will most likely be a fat asshole the rest of their lives because their parents don't understand cramming a kid full of sugar all day is a bad idea.

As far as schools banning recess after lunch I doubt the whole blame can be put on the school system. I guarantee you it was some bitchy parent who's fatass kid felt like a loser went and complained to the school. Dumbass parents never think the problem is with their kid, it's always the systems fault.

Found some pics of the ad campaign.

Those ads are horrible and awesome at the same time.

NYC's (well Manhattan anyway) one of the healthier places in the country, probably since people walk around more and rich/vain people like to look good, have access to better food/healthcare, etc. There are some real fatties in the ghettos though, and the suburbs outside of the city aren't much better.

Obesity rates tend to be higher in poorer neighborhoods because it's both cheap and convenient. When both parents are working it's a pain to have to cook a decent meal. When you go to the grocery store and have to feed a bunch of kids it's a lot cheaper to buy all of our refined corn derivatives instead of fruits and veggies.

Oh definitely, though at a certain point it becomes a simple math problem. Input > output = fattie. If you want to stuff your gullet with 5000 calories a day that's one thing, at least roll around a little to burn off a few McFlurries.

And of course there's always New Jersey: http://content.usato...ey-doughnuts-/1

But fatties or not, Hoboken starts to look more attractive with stories like this: http://nymag.com/dai...-manhattan.html

My favorite ad so far is the one that says "it's hard to be a little girl, when you're not..."

Didn't know they had palm trees in Canada. Or black people for that matter.
