Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec:
I've been disc since ICC. My current spec 31/8/2. Attempted smite spec, and wasn't happy with it, and decided to go with this one. Previous to ICC, I levelled the priest holy. I still keep my os as holy, but willing to go shadow if a dps os is needed.

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Yes and Yes, and I talk too (when needed)

Do you have an authenticator?
Yes

Typical Weekly Playtime:
I'm normally on from 7-12 PM EST everyday so your raid times won't be an issue.

Time Zone:
EST

Previous Guilds:
Prior to transferring to this server, I was on Echo Isles in Omega (Abrielle). Currently I'm in Unseen Wrath.

Previous Raiding Experience:
Currently 2/7 Firelands
I've completed BoT and BWD on normal modes.
ICC 10 and 25.

Why are you applying to us:
I saw Wrathblood spamming trade, asked what type of healer you were looking for, and liked his response. I also want to progress further in Firelands. I'm not about loot, I want to see end game material, and challenge myself getting there.

Link us your Armory:
http://us.battle.net...Abrianna/simple

Screenshot of your UI, preferably in a raid environment:
My UI is empty really, just use grid/clique, along with WoW's action bars.

World of Logs Report:
http://www.worldoflo...um/healingDone/
This is previous to getting some gear upgrades, haven't raided since.

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.
I've only asked Wrathblood a question through in-game mail.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
Not much to say...single, mom of 2, that goofs around more than I should. I'm also my own worst critic when it comes to healing. I run recount to measure how I'm doing. And if I'm not doing well, I will read and try new stuff to make it better.

Final thoughts first - I think if you make some adjustments to your spec/gems/reforge and work on keeping your spell casting optimal (PoH spam when necessary, prayer of mending on cool down) you will see some improvement in your throughput.

I also think you should seriously consider giving smite spec another shot, my basic thoughts on it are below. I know its an amazing spec when played properly, and im confident I could 2 heal up to rag with an R druid or Hpally doing it. The bonus 15% healing on demand that costs you little mana, and tosses in some random heals while stacking up for it is just too good to be true on aoe fights.

If wrath/sobe thinks we have room for a disc, and luci has no intention of coming back than Abrianna might fit in well to the mix.

sorry for bad spelling/lazyness/late relpy whatever im making lunch now.

Things I like:
  • You're a disc priest
  • You're willing to go shadow
  • You were vouched for by an app who didn't fuck up horribly last night
  • You have tsunami and core, and grinded up molten front rep.
  • Shannox healing parse. lots of greater heal, exactly how I do it.

Things I don't like:
  • You're a disc priest who tried archangel spec and did not like it.
  • You're willing to go shadow, but have a holy off spec. I won't pass judgment yet, but if you're willing to go shadow you need a spec and a set of gear that's hit capped at the very least. (You don't need to have a shadow spec as off spec to join)
  • Your disc spec is missing strength of soul. The point in having a non-smite spec disc priest in the raid is generally to tank heal. Strength of soul is required for that.
  • Your disc spec is missing desperate prayer. Anyone who thinks this is a pointless/unnecessary talent has far to high an opinion of themselves. Everyone eats avoidable damage once in a while, and even if you don't that talent is still free healing.
  • Your disc spec has soul warding in it. Shield spam is over and I see no reason to take that talent.
  • Reforges confuse me a bit. You seem to be reforging for haste, but then there's haste>mastery on the shoulders. Also, the offhand needs to be crit>spi not mas>spi. Haste reforges are good, but only if you have no mana problems. Personally I didn't plan on reforgeing to haste until hardmodes when we really need the throughput.
  • Spirit gems in your belt. Should be spirit/int
  • if your serious about stacking haste, boots should be haste enchanted. The run speed won't do you and good, as you can pop inner will for high movement fights or phases.
  • Occuthar parse. You were 2 healing with an Hpally. You should have smoked nobubble's output with PoH spam and left the tanks to him during aoe phases. Only 11 prayer of mending heals. That needs to be used on cool down.

Here's a copy to my thoughts on the available priest specs from our class research forums for your benefit:

Heres my disorganized collection of thoughts about priests atm. To expand upon the spec options, as far as I can tell there are 3 roles and 3 specs healing priests can fill:

1: Pure tanking healing. Fights where we NEED a dedicated tank healer or single target healer, especially if we are short pallies. Best spec I can make for this kind of thing is: http://www.wowhead.c...hzrosbfRMocuMZo

Its pretty much the same as EJ's suggested spec (http://www.wowhead.c...bfRMochMZ0b:qVc), only i skip Veiled shadows for desp prayer and 1% haste. I prefer throughput until we can get consistent kill times to make 1min less on SF CD worth it every fight. There is no reason to not take desp prayer.

You're goal is going to be keeping renew up and shield on cooldown on as many tanks as there are currently taking damage. Keep PRoM on CD. You're going to penance effectively as often as possible, the swap between Gheal and heal as needed. Note: penance should only be cast if you are going to get full ticks. Heal is the better filler even when over healing because it increases shield up-time. Any spare mana and GCD's not being used on the tanks can be put into PoH if the raid is grouped, or shields to help out the raid healers.

Glyph PWS, Penn, and for most fights barrier, sometime PoH. Fight dependent.

2: Holy raid healing. Theres no point is speccing holy if you're going to be assigned to tank heal. For a strict raid healing job, Holy is a good way to go. My suggested spec for holy is the same as I posted in beleaveres application: http://www.wowhead.c...rRzrkfzoh:oVz0q

I think we're all familiar with the holy play style. While all healers benefit more from 25man scaling, Hpriest particularly hurt when there's only 2 groups to PoH spam. Im not going to pass judgment on the holy vs disc raid healing specs until I have more experience healing current fights, although im leaning towards disc due to raid utility, and lack of spirit cloth in firelands. Play holy if you prefer it id say.

3: Disc Raid Healing/Tank Healing/AA/A. If im going to be healing for us again sometime in the near future (still don't know which tier sets to buy on my priest, if any so im saving) I will be using this spec: http://www.wowhead.c...bfkMocuM:qmVadq I proved on Wednesdays raid that im a pretty big fuck up for not looking into these specs via the spreadsheets for 4.2 earlier, I guess that's what filling a dps role does to me.

This spec has all the fun tools you want for raiding. AA/A obviously useful for fights like Alysrazor, where you can smite to get mana back, then pop archangel for the healing boost just before the aoe phase. Really the perfect disc priest fight, im excited to try it out sometime soon. Also domo should work well with this spec. Smite spam in between tank healing in the spread out phase, pop archangel for the aoe phase to poh spam. 1/2 Train of thought is the only drawback, I might drop a holy point to pick it up. No need for soul warding, that's a filler talent at best when not using AA/A.

The spec is also the most complex healing spec in the game, as you have ALOT of spells to worry about:

1. Rapture returns on cooldown, every 12 sec. I don't worry so much about this when strictly tank healing because it almost always works out when you put up shields every 7-8seconds on the tank.

2. PRoM on CD. Shield on the tank or otherwise to get raptures.

3. Confusing part. Choosing which spell is the right one. Gheal on the tank? Heal? Penance? PoH? Smite/Holyfire? The idea here for most fights will be: Heal tanks during tank damage phases, keep Evangelism stacks ready for Archangel. Pop archangel for aoe burst healing (PoH, NOT shield spam). Keep penance on cooldown, keep shield and PRoM on tank on cool down. Greater heal priority on tank then others. Shield while running, only cast renew if running. Inner focus shou;d always be used on CD, preferably on PoH

I was totally confused on wednesday night as to my shitty HPS and mana conservation. my gear is still kinda shadowy (3 shadow tier pieces lol and no spirit reforges), but the real problem was my shield spam. I was using inner will and PWS to protect the raid from the aoe on domo. Looking at the spreadsheet found here: http://media.temerit...t%20v%201.4.xls you can see PoH spam is FAR more effective than shield spam. I blame me for our wiping, because it really was a HPS problem. Although if im spending more time tank healing like sobe wanted me to via healing assignments, I still expect our 2 other healers to push out more healing. Ill see if I can go over our better wipes to see whats up in another post. Hpriest +Druid should have been more than enough to top groups off, but it just wasn't happening.

Gems: Im dropping Ember Shadowspirit Diamond, in favor of Revitalizing Shadowspirit Diamond for disc. Not 100% sure about holy, but im leaning towards a throughput increase with the 3%crit healing/spirit gem.

Also going to reforge all mastery to crit/haste as disc, and all crit/haste to mastery as holy. mastery>crit/haste for disc tank healing spec btw. Spirit/int first as needed of course.

To Wrapup: Disc is going to be the easier spec on mana, and harder spec to put out big numbers with. however I plan to see big numbers once I have the priority system down as disc. With holy there's always something to cast, and the play style tends to flow easily.

My spec I messed with before I sever transferred and stupid me didn't put it back. That being said, I went out of darkness and went into veiled shadows, for the fast cd on fiend.

As for a/a spec, I'm not opposed to trying it again. When they changed spec's around adding that to talents, I initially went with that one. In 5 mans when cata came out, I just couldn't get into it. Not sure whether is was just gear issues, or everyone learning new stuff all around, but it was fail for me.

I like the int, spirit, haste, mastery, crit stats, but I think a balance between haste and mastery needs to be achieved.

Gemming, I'm revamping those, it's kind of that's what I had with me when I transferred to this server. But more int gems coming, and less spirit gems, maybe less mastery too. Have to play with it a little. In ICC I used the revitalizing meta because my thought was as disc, mana wasn't really an issue.

Offspec, shadow is fun. I went shadow for about 2 weeks grinding rep for BH when I hit 85. I offered to make that my o/s but I know I'll have to grind for gear. I kept holy o/s for Atramedes and the speed boost from pw:s for gongs and also lightwell on Chimaeron.

Hey, I'm really sorry for the slow response on your app. Just wanted to let you know what's going on from our side.

In a nutshell, we've had a healer's schedule just improve after a summer of busyness, we're trialing Nobubble (you can see his app still there, I think. He's on vacation atm so its going a bit slow), and we've just had an old player or two kinda resurface with a chance of coming. As a result, our healing picture is unfortunately a good bit more crowded than it was a couple weeks ago. That doesn't necessarily mean that we're going to be set, but for a number of reasons its also taking us a fair bit of time to get clarity on where our situation stands. As a result, we've been moving a good bit slower than we usually would.

I know this doesn't really help, but I at least wanted you to know that we aren't ignoring you and haven't forgotten about you, nor have we dismissed your app out of hand, its just the way things are right now. I understand that this might be frustrating, and that you might well end up heading in a different direction, which we understand.
