Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec:
My main spec is holy, and is certainly my strongest setup. 6/32/3, including Body and Soul -- which I find incredibly useful, though other holy priests may not. Shadow is my offspec, chosen for dailies and for raid adaptability. I've been playing holy since Cata came out, and shadow since a bit before Wrath ended. Previously, I was Disc, though I found holy to be a wonderful challenge when I leveled my priest, and I enjoy it immensely now.

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Yes and yes. And no crazy landlord restrictions.

Do you have an authenticator?
I was hacked within the first couple of months I started playing, and have had one ever since.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
I'm on once a day, at least, for dailies. My raid availability right now is Tuesday/Sunday, but I can swap my schedule at work once in the guild to include Wednesdays (rather than Thursdays, as my schedule sits right now). No sweat.

Previous Raiding Experience:
As I recently switched my main character, I'll include the raids that *I* have done, though some may have been on the warlock, and others on the priest.

I started playing in Wrath, so I never had a chance to seriously raid any of the BC raids. I've gone back and done a few for fun, including MC, AQ, TK...

In Wrath I did ICC in both 10 and 25 -- in 10 the only thing I didn't down on heroic pre-Cata was the Lich King; in 25, we didn't get to Sindy or the Lich King. I also did Naxx and Ulduar achievement runs after they were easy... but didn't actually have a character at 80 when they were current content. I also downed Halion in 25, never in 10.

Why are you applying to us:
I'm looking for a 10-man raiding guild, rather than 25 as the one I am currently in. After talking to Wrathblood for a while, it seemed like a guild I should try out. After raiding with you all tonight, I had a great time and enjoyed the relaxed (yet intense! :o) atmosphere.

I've chatted a bit with Wrathblood about joining the guild. Other than that, not really.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm a 22-year-old girl, I play WoW, I read books. I work at Barnes and Noble doing everything imaginable, including making lattes and Frappucinos, to selling expensive ereaders, to making sure things are in alphabetical order. Thankfully, I work with a bunch of WoW nerds (including my manager, who doesn't mind creating my schedule around raid times). I don't have anything against raid wipes (see 25-man raiding since Cataclysm hit), but I do enjoy killing things. I'm absolutely open to critiques and criticism to make me better, as I acknowledge that I am a fairly new player... but I'm also willing to give you the reasons for things like why I use HealBot, why I don't raid with a 4-set actually on, and why I'm slightly lower than I want to be on haste. Just ask! :)

Talents: Drop surge of light, its awful. on our beth'tilac kill those 2 points earned you 1 single SoL proc. Drop Rapid Renewal, theres no need for it as renew is only good for putting on the tanks passively the entire fight. Spec is good otherwise, here's the best one I can come up with.

Don't under estimate the power of blessed resil, and usefulness of desp prayer.

Gear: With raid buffs your haste is above the ideal 12.5% target. Reforging a bit more haste to aim for a passive 7.5% on your character pane is optimal. To do this, i would remind you that point for point mastery is better than haste still. bracers could be deforged from mastery>spi and reforged to haste>spi. Just an example of what to aim for with the reforges, quite a few can be done.

Got spi on almost every piece which is nice, but no longer required considering the new loot tables. Go for any Intel upgrade at this point, ill see if I can find a BiS list for you.

Theres our parse for the night if you wanted to look it over. 13K on Beth'tilac is reasonable, and your spell breakdown was great. If you want to improve your throughput, it would help if we were all grouped up more during the non burn phase but at the very least during the burn phase you should be spamming poh more. alternate between the two groups, then fill the time you have before improved prayer of healing ticks fall off with coh/prom. Renew on the tanks > PoH1/PoH2 > Prom > CoH is the idea.

Did you hymn and fiend at the same time? What mana potion did you use/when did you use it?


For Shannox you were clearly tank healing with that many Gheals. Hopefully we can get cory used to soloing the shannox tank in the future, and have our other 2 healers split the raid/offtank accordingly, however for tank healing your serenity numbers are a bit low. 8 flash heals during the fight makes no sense to me as you only got 1 SoL proc anyhow. If you stand in the middle you should be able to keep renew ticking on both tanks by refreshing it.

I won't look over the baleroc parses as the only decent attempt was the first one, but I think you get the idea for how to tank heal as holy. Obviously you can't hold a disc spec as well, as its more important to have a shadow backup in the raid for the 5% haste buff which we really need, but I just don't think holy has the mana regn to handle healing stacks/decimation blades. For that reason we will try and get our Hpallies used to healign stacks, or alternatively have someone with a disc spec do it (disc works so well because penance is 3 stacks in 1 cast, and PWS can be used on the tanks without gaining the debuff. Totally OP.


App: you're not slightly lower than you want to be on haste, you're slightly higher. (1%~)

Personally I hate heal bot and play the old fashion way, but as long as your up time on WoL stays above 98% you're fine.

Do explain why you don't have the 4 set on.

Either guardian spirit is not bound, or the binding is hidden. I certainly hope its bound. Same with Hymn of hope?

Wow! I got home from work to find all of this -- thank you for all the comments and critiques! Let's see what I can do to answer...

Regarding haste: I know I have enough to meet the 12.5% while raid buffed for the extra tick of renew. However, in the situations where I have to tank heal, I'd prefer a little bit more haste to feel comfortable doing without Flash Heal altogether. It's a small, preferential difference to me, really. I'm also reforged with the idea of 25-man raid buffs in mind, so my reforging will change slightly to accommodate 10-man raiding.

Guinthel... you rock, seriously. Loved your post. I'll try and answer as best I can...

Regarding talents -- yes. I'll get right on changing them. I actually never reviewed the SoL proc rate, but now that you mention it, it is obscenely low and a waste of points. I'll be working on my talent tree later tonight or tomorrow to make these changes.

Intel upgrades... I'm working on my dailies and getting new Valor gear, never fear. I have my eyes on the Intel/mastery trinket and offhand next from the dailies... we'll see what I can do with that.

I'm glad you thought my spell breakdown on Beth'tilac was decent -- I'm a little surprised, I thought that having completed that fight for the first time last night with you all, I'd have made more mistakes. I'm prepared now for the healing craziness in phase 2, so hopefully my PoH usage will improve. I didn't hymn on our kill at all, actually, nor did I use a mana potion, because I was comfortable with where my mana was at for most of the fight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't I use Hymn of Hope before using fiend so I get the most mana regen possible? I used fiend when I did in phase 1 so it would be available for phase 2, and I didn't really need the extra mana at that point... I could be completely off base here, please let me know. If I'd needed the mana potion, I'd have probably used it around the beginning of phase 2 so I could focus on healing rather than trying to get mana back during the heal-heavy phase.

RE: Shannox... Any suggestions you have on tank healing as holy would be awesome. I know renew/PoM/serenity, any other suggestions you have would be super appreciated though.

I don't actively wear my 4-set, though I have it, because I activate Chakra while wearing it, thus gaining the buff, before replacing it with the heroic robes from Halfus because the stats are significantly better for me. I get the best of both worlds this way, even if it is kind of a cheat.

And don't worry, Guardian Spirit and Hymn are both bound, you just can't see them on the screen. I place them where I do mainly to have a place where I can quickly glance to see the time remaining on their cooldowns.

I just bit the bullet and named my hunter's hyena pet JustinBieber since they seemed fairly similar to me. I wonder if Blizz took offense, because when I checked him the other day, the pet was completely gone.
