Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec:
0/32/9 - Cookie cutter spec. Or one of them. I have 3/3 Perseverance for taking less magic damage. 2/2 in brutal impact to be able to interupt and allow dps to focus on dps or their other target. I have been this spec shortly after reaching 85. Had to add brutal impact as a change to be able to interupt.

Offspec is currently resto, but I do not care for it much. I am comfortable with boomkin, and semi comfortable with kitty spec. I have not used either spec in a long time and would need to practice. It is up to raid leader to simpl ask if you want me to change my offspec. Boom would prolly be the easiest, since I have a full set (a couple blues I think). Kitty is also a possibility, would just have to go back into some 359 and pick up hit gear.

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Yes and yes, my voice is not annoying, only my laugh.

Do you have an authenticator?
Yes, took it off once for one reason or another and got hacked a week later, never been off since.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
Varies. All times in the past I have made time for raiding. Only few times I have missed raiding was because of power outage, a schedualed time out of town, or computer problems. The computer I have now is only 3 months old, so far I have had very few problems. Internet is pretty decent too, the cord that plugged into the router from my computer does not have a little clip and can get bumped once and a while and knock me offline. I am also living at my inlaw's place. Father-in-law LOVES to drag my hubby and I on for very long lectures. its happened in the middle of a raid only once. He knows our schedual, but yeah hard to explain. My step daughter is here to visit for the summer, so there may be times I will be unavailable on the weekends. Also one more thing. I have been lookign afor a job, if I get it I will start in august, so my schedual there after is up in the air.

Time Zone:
EST, live in the sunshine state :)

Previous Guilds:
can't remember guilds I was in prior to drenden server.
<Kitten Soup> - left, personal reasons.
<Is Malicious> - The guild leader disbanded guild after some drama happened.
<Nephilim> - Few core raiders quit WoW for one reason or another, and raid fell apart
<Faded> - Current guild, not raiding much.

Previous Raiding Experience:
On this toon, prior to 4.2 I was 10/12 on reg. After 4.2 I watch Nefarion bie by my warlock's hands. Al'kair has yet to be seen dead.

Why are you applying to us:
I am simply looking for a guild that would take me as a full time raider. I have almost completely exhausted my resources, save transfering from the server. You are looking for a tank, I just may be that person you are looking for.

Link us your Armory:
http://us.battle.net...den/Kaai/simple

rotation trinkets are not shown.. I have Unheeded Warning, Essence of the Cyclone, and Darkmoon Card: Earthquake.

Screenshot of your UI, preferably in a raid environment:
http://i9.photobucke...1010_235754.jpg

Its old, but my UI has not changed. Where recount is I have omen, they can be swapped back and forth. Also have grid sitting off in a corner in case I have to go heals.

World of Logs Report:
http://www.worldoflo...kvqe/details/5/

Again a little old, but not as old as the image. Its hard to find a WoL when you are not raiding much =/

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am currently a 24 year old air force veteran. I served and fixed engines on f-15, while stationed in Okinawa. I am currently unemployed but looking for employment. Within the next few years I plan to go back to school for Veteranary Medicine. While in Okinawa I found my other half, then married it. He plays WoW too, and is currently in requiem.

Hey, Kaai. I've known Kaai for a while, and while I haven't played with her a ton I consider her a good player.

However, I've got some nits to pick on your gearing. I'm by no means an expert on bear gearing, but I've followed Reesi from the tanking forums a bit and consider her to pretty much be the queen of Bear theorycrafting. According to her stuff, your stat progression should pretty much go AGIL >= STAM > Dodge > Mastery >> Crit > Expertise > Hit >>>>>> Haste, in that order, for gemming, reforging and enchanting. So, looking at your gear, some things to work on would be:

Fix glove, boot and back reforging. Your enchants are all good, though Reesi would argue for the +armor glove enchants (to be fair, its 60 itemization points worth of armor and bears get more out of armor than any tanking class) but Mastery is fine and spec looks good. The biggest area to change would probably be gemming. It looks like you haven't raided on Kaai for a while, as your gems are kinda all over the place right now. Mostly Mastery/Stam, but some AGIL, and in some places you go for the slot bonus though in others you don't. Its probably worth going back, giving your gemming some thought and overhauling it with a central strategy in mind.

While Reesi advocates AGIL as the Druid "master" stat, and she's right in that AGIL is excellent for Bears, Druids also get more mileage out of STAM than any other tank and can do impressive things by stacking STAM. I can see arguments either way, and a lot of folks say Druids are best off with a mix of both. So, AGIL gems are good and the STAM gems might be ok as well, but some AGIL/Dodge or AGIL/STAM gems might be good choices as well, especially when you've got useful socket bonuses available. Mastery/Stam gems aren't terrible but also aren't going to be the best way to go.

AGIL as the Druid "master" stat

According to askmrrobot.com and his nifty optimizer (although not always right, he loses some marbles on some specs), agility seems to be the way to go.

Just quickly ran your current armory through (http://www.askmrrobo.../kaai/optimized) and I'd say that (in a raid setting) +688agil, + ~2% crit, +2.75% avoidance (43% altogether), +~1900AP,
while only losing 13k health, 0.38% haste, 1 mastery, and 0.58% physical hit isn't too shabby.

I wouldn't trust the site completely, but for a quick glance at something you're not sure about gearing (like druids for me since my highest is only lvl 48) the site remains a good resource to look into.

Thank you for your input, I guess I missed the reforging on those items for some reason..

The reason why I have gems all over the place was because I was in the middle of switching the gems. I wanted to try to gem all mastery as teh primary stat to see how I did, verses the agil as master stat, but I do agree, agil is the way to go because of what agil gives for a bear. then having stam as second prim stat.

I use ask mr robot, but only to an extent. 13k health converts to more than 13k in bear, I beleive I would be under 150k if its negative 13k in humanoid. If you really want me to go by askmrrobot, I really have no problem trying it. I think the biggest stam lose would be the shoulder enchant.

Everything is fixed, and should be in order.

With the bum shoulder it takes me forever to type, so I'll do a detailed review later. Overall I do like the tone of the app.

I hope your shoulder get better soon, I know someone else who just got surgery on his shoulder too, then went fishing, fell on some rocks and fucked it all up. It really sucks.

That'll probably happen to Sobe. He'll get drunk, fall down some more stairs, and repeat.

The log seems to be expired, and I couldn't find any from your previous guilds. Would have liked to seen your uptimes, interrupts, CD usage, GCD usage, etc. so nothing to really critique.

Gear setup seems to be fine after the changes, I'd probably go with 130 agi to weapon - in addition to the SD benefits, you already have the boot enchant, druids are fairly mobile as it is, and the agi is nice if you ever have to DPS during an encounter.

As far as Agi vs. Stam, I'd probably lean toward Agi but it really depends on the healers you're raiding with more than anything else. Some healers just see a large health pool and assume it'll be easier to heal you (perception can be just as important as performance) - so it's establishing that relationship and knowing how to complement their strengths and weaknesses.

Just an FYI, you would be raiding "full-time" but we do have 2 tanks, so you will be asked to DPS a fair bit. We don't have such a thing as backup raiders, though we might have a friend in-guild join if we happen to be short for some reason. Wrathblood and Trashmob don't mind DPSing, so it's generally been whatever's best suited for the encounter. Paladins take a smidge less damage, warriors have more mobility, you'd probably be best suited for tanking on fights where one of the tanks is DPSing while not tanking anything. Boomkin off-spec would be fine, I wouldn't mind seeing your gear/spec for that.

The lack of a log hurts, but as I mentioned I do like the overall app and we've had a couple of people vouch for you, so I think it definitely warrants a trial. Not sure exactly what Wrath is planning for Sunday but maybe he could take you along and give you a couple of tough assignments to run you through the wringer.

Bears are also generally good on magic fights. They don't have the cooldowns or tricks of a dk, but they have a TON of passive damage reduction and it especially shines on fights with steady magic damage. Sunday's going to be Baleroc then Ryolith, which isn't really ideal given how easy it is to be a tank on Baleroc and how our progression is going on Ryolith. I could bring Kaai in for a few attempts on each just for comparison and exposure.

Tuesday will be the better day. I'll sit on Beth, Trash can tank Beth and Kaai can get the adds, then Trash can sit on Shannox, I'll tank Shannox and Kaai can be the Riplimb tank. That should be entertaining.

These look like they are working, I think the last one will give you the most information, but it is also the oldest. Between then and now there were a couple different pieces of gear but I believe it was still all 359.

Also if you are looking for a perminate dps I would love to be kitty dps, just need some more hit. I could prolly nearly reach it with reforging.

Halfus:

  • Demo roar uptime needs to improve. Brandonjames covered Halfus with Vindication after the adds died, but looks like you took Halfus to start and didn't debuff him..
  • Out of the 5 shadow novas that went out, 3 happened while you were tanking Halfus and none of them were interrupted (though the first one's a bitch to interrupt).
  • 3 barkskins in a 4:06 fight, not bad. Didn't cast Frenzied Regen at all. Wouldn't have been bad to use for the spikes with novas, after Halfus roars, etc. With the nature of the frenzied regen glyph it's good to plan ahead, make sure you let your healers know you'll get an extra 30% healing.
  • Melee attacks are a higher percentage than I'd like, seems like you're wasting globals.
  • Mangle usage is okay, a little sloppy with berserk procs.
  • Lacerate uptime could be better (moar berserk procs!)
  • Didn't really use Pulverize, using it effectively would improve your SD uptime.
  • No Thrash, not a huge deal, just seems like your rotation was sloppy on this fight.

Cho'gall Attempts:

  • More of the same, demo roar needs to be higher. Especially since Cho'gall puts a debuff on you that makes you take more physical damage. Melee swings were 64% of all damage you took across the attempts (a little under 13 million), knocking 10% off that will make you take a lot less damage than any piece of gear ever will.
  • CD usage seems to get worse for longer fights, need to plan ahead better.
  • Same deal with the rotation, melee swings were your highest source of damage. Seems like you're overemphasizing Maul, should really be more of a filler. Try to squeeze in more Mangle/Lacerate/Pulverize/Thrash.
  • If your UI doesn't clearly show Berserk procs, Lacerate uptime/stacks, and Pulverize uptime, I'd recommend tweaking it.
  • Ate 5 corrupting crashes over 10 attempts. Not bad, not great either.

V&T + Council:

  • Was healing, but seems like you did a reasonable job avoiding stuff.
  • Don't neglect to use defensive CDs as a healer. On hard modes everyone needs to do everything they can to mitigate damage.

So some room for improvement, but I still think there's enough to work with for a trial. With SD and LotP bears are really dependent on maintaining a clean rotation and mashing GCDs for survivability, so it can be tricky at times (Like finding a DK tank that can DS effectively, harder than you'd think). I'll leave the off-spec boom vs. kitty decision up to you, but you'd probably be asked to DPS more than heal. We have 2 resto druids and no rogues so caster leather might be tougher to come by, but we'd expect you to take the best pieces for tanking first.

Tone of the app and appropriate replies to criticism warrants a trail to me. Let's throw her in the meat grinder and see how she does.

I need a new UI. Cho'gall and Atramedes have to be the hardest two boss fights for me because of the blizzard's icon for sound and shadow, it just happens to appear right over my action bars. With all the moving going on in the fights I use a combination of clicking and mashing. Because I have not been raiding much, I've been lazy on trying to find a new UI, but I am off on the search again. XD

Also in search of something like dot timer, maybe I could try that one again.

Kaai you should try Druidtimerbars, it can be found on curse, and will display all of the timers you will need. Good luck

I've also recently swapped to TukUI and am really happy with it. Its a little minimalist and takes some getting used to and configuring, but its pretty self-contained and while the configurability isn't as good as say Bartender, it was good enough for me. I use it, Omen, Recount, Decursive, Tidplates (and Tidyplates threat), and DBM and that's just about it. I've also got OMNIcc for timers, etc but I think Tukui can handle that just as well, I just haven't set it up properly yet. Needtoknow is good when you've got a couple timers on a fight that you REALLY need to keep track of.
