From reading my other forum post this was kinda brought up. Im definitely interested in doing this. ultimately its up to Sobe, just wanted to know how many other people wouldnt mind extending raid for AL and Nef. Granted if we do down them it would give us "possibly" a day off if we kill them early in the week. I say YES please!!!

Well I was just poking fun at your AoE epeen-flexing; it's not really our style to extend raids. While it's obviously nice to get first kills, there's no imperative to sacrifice farm nights in order to do so. I have no personal objection to extending raids, but I don't think most people would enjoy doing 3 progression nights a week (at least on a consistent basis). Feel free to chime in if you feel otherwise though.

God knows how much time we have before 4.2 and Firelands come out, so we're going to be doing this content (hard mode or otherwise) for a while. I'd rather set a consistent pace at 1 - 1.5 nights of progression and not have people burn out. Wrath and I talked about extending when the guild was getting back on it's feet for momentum / recruiting purposes, but now our roster is pretty set and the bosses are only going to get harder and require more time to down.

If I felt that we just weren't getting enough time to spend on progression, then I'd be more inclined to extend it, but there's no reason we can't make consistent progress with the schedule we have now - we've only spent two nights on Al after all, and neither of them were for the full 3 hours (think we've put in 3-4 hours total on him). I mentioned this on Sunday, but if we improve as much as we did from the first night of Al to the second this week, there's no reason we can't kill Al on our 3rd night on him. One possibility for Nef is to extend BWD if no one needs gear though, I'm sure a couple of people are bored of killing Magmaw every week.

I'm ok for extending maybe one boss at a time. Extend throne until we get al'akir down and then we could do the same for nef. As far as loot goes there are some marginally better drops from wind council but not really too important. BWD however has a lot of drops plus points for people still buying their tier pieces.

One possible idea would be to make "Progression Night" so to speak, not always be on Sunday. Sunday tends to be (though it isn't always) a weak night for attendance, and thus at relatively elevated risk for the night to get cancelled (compared to Tues/Wed). We've had a significant run of weeks with weak progression, and I think the weeks essentially spent farming is part of why people are relatively gung-ho about progression now. A desire to get things back on track, as it were.

Extending Throne is fine with me because Conclave doesn't really matter. If we extend BWD, that likely means we're planning on spending 2 nights that week on Nef (since we'd presumably skip Throne, and BoT should take, at most, 1 night, so what else are we gonna do?) and that might be heavy. Perhaps Nef on Tuesday, go clear BoT on Wed for a break, then go back to Nef on Sunday, though that's still a lot of quality time with Nef for one week.

Wednesday would probably a good fit, seems to be our best night in terms of attendance and focus - Tuesdays are good on attendance but for whatever reason people seem more rusty to start off the week. That could also be an argument against extending Conclave if we start on Tuesday, since Conclave could be a quick "warm-up" of sorts to get everyone on the same page.

I also want to trial out that shaman app tonight, and while Al would be a great test of awareness (he's killed the fight before so he should be somewhat comfortable) I want a little more variety so we can really get a feel for how he heals in different encounters. And keep in mind that we've picked up some new people recently - lock has decent experience, but bunny and barg have only killed the farm bosses once or twice. We want them to get more reps, and all 3 could use some gear as well.

Right now I'm thinking we'll start on BWD tonight and go for Al tomorrow.

Sounds good. That way if we get Al smoothly on Wed, a good group sunday would allow time for Nef or heroic halfus attempts.
