I'm wondering if this is true or not. It seemed like most of our attempts were pretty much the same. Sure we got further some times than others but I didn't really see a steady progression. People were playing sloppy and we're not going to have him on farm status if people are getting knocked back and picked up by tornadoes on every attempt. We had progression in terms of how much of the fight we saw but I don't think we really had great progression in terms of people fucking up less. Our best attempt happened in the middle of the night and you can see our other attempts were all over the place for the most part.

Don't agree at all. Toward the end of the night right-side was flawless in terms of avoiding ugly tornado + burst combos. People were running 20 yards to avoid shit if they had to, using heroic leap, charge, dispersion, life grip, disengage, master's call, just about every class ability was used. There was a marked improvement with the practice, and overall we were getting into phase 2 cleaner. 2 consecutive hours on one boss is a lot for some people, so there may be a degree of fatigue, but overall I felt great from what I was able to see.

I'm going to put myself with the people on the left side next time, see if I can sort out some of the issues - even something as simple as more direction with a couple of seconds of advance notice can be helpful. And I'm not sure the 18% is our "best" per se - there were other attempts that we could have dragged out (and possibly matched the 18%, who knows) but I called for a wipe to get in more attempts. We also had some really good runs in phase 2 where people were dodging shit for 2-3 minutes straight, and that's including some of the people who were struggling last night.

Farm status? We haven't killed him yet. Expect our first kill to be sloppy as hell. That's the point of progression - you barely scrape by the first time, come in a little more confident and knowledgeable for the repeat kills. If you want people to play better, do something productive instead of complaining about it - with Al'akir in the way I can't see the other side, so if you see someone struggling, help them out. Bunny was standing next to you, so you can coordinate with him in vent. Diablo's slow on getting into position? Call out on vent that you're iceblocking and don't need to be healed for a few seconds. Talk to each other.

I was having the same problem as Diablo with reference to the tornado timing and the wind burst but i had a bar blocking some of my view which i moved and that helped me see his cast bar and things went more or less soother for me. I had nature aspect on for different parts of the fight was just wondering if that made a difference for the healers also? It wasn't mentioned in the video but he was shelling out nature damage.

One thing i was thinking of was the spawns timings and the time that we had the dps buff. 20 sec spawn time with a 15 sec dps buff upon death. Would we not want to mark them and kill one just before the third one spawned? 20 sec + 20 sec / killed just before the third (15sec) + 20 sec = 1 min than start to kill them to keep the buff up vice 20 sec + 20 sec + 20 sec / killed just before the forth (15sec)+ 20 sec = 1.2 min?

p.s. going to watch the video again (4th time) now that i have a better understanding of the fight

Little tip for Al'Akir, since I have no idea how you guys set up your groups, I could just speaking for no reason.

We were running into problems where we had 3 people on the left, 4 in the middle, and 3 on the right. The problem was coming from chain lightning being too much for the 4 group in the middle if we got unlucky strikes. We moved me all the way over to the right, since I have some pretty decent self healing (lol fury warrior wut). We 1 shot him after that. If you're dying to chain lightning, then I would say, spread the groups out a little more, classes with self healing can take care of themselves solo, and keep the healers in range as a just in case type thing. Since p1 isn't so much about DPS as it survivability, you hit p2 with everyone alive, and you have a set plan for the stormlings? GG Al'Akir dies.

Let me know if this isn't the case, I'd love to help you guys.

We split up into 5 groups, so only 2 people get hit at the same time. We've tried 3 groups but it seemed to be unnecessary raid damage. Our P1 strat is sound, just need to get a little more consistency.

Be vocal. This fight is very little about dps race and more about knowing what is coming and where from. Tornadoes rotate sides so if you are the baddie adjusting for a tornado from the same side twice fix it.

I know I mentioned it earlier but keep people in the same spot for the first few kills to become comfortable with how much time they have between wind bursts and tornadoes.

P3 is the easy part IMO. Three things to watch for.

1. Have everyone start at the head. Since he knocks you away and down this just makes it easier for movement than starting at the bottom.
2. Lightning Rod. GTFO nothing will end a kill faster than this. (The mechanics are pretty simple it casts 5 yards up and down and 20 yards laterally) Going 5 yards up or down is easier than 20 yards away. I usually go down and then to the side then back up so as not to mess up the clouds.
3. Watch for clouds. You can see them if you play zoomed out far enough. This is where the next level of death will occur. You have at least 3 seconds if not 5 to move down.

Rinse Repeat Kill. For extra bonus points and free achieves you can keep a stormling up in p3 and kill it at 1%. Wait I shouldn't have said that.
