Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec:
To begin, enhancement has always been my main spec, since I began playing in BC. I think it's gone through some good times, and some bad times, and I feel like right now, we're in the best of times. My off spec has been elemental sine late wrath.
My current enhancement build is 10/31/0, the enhancement tree has remained fairly constant since the tail end of wrath when all of the sweeping class changes were made...I've placed three points in Elemental Precision because it's essentially mastery, which is simming very well for enhance right now. The one remaining point was nestled snugly into Reverberation because of how frequently I find myself using alternating shocks in cataclysm, and with an eye towards keeping flame shock off cd for the unleashed elements buff. I'll be honest, I haven't simmed it with that point switched to call of flame, but I've also not read anything to the effect that I should.
My current elemental spec is the one recommended by EJ, 34/7/0. I've only been elemental since late Wrath, prior to which I was Enh/Resto. This is the ele spec I've been using since a week or two into cataclysm I'd say. Pretty obvious choices in the ele tree really. The points in enhancement are there simply because they provide a dps increase, whereas placing points in resto wouldn't. My favorite thing about shaman in Cataclysm- instant cast ghost wolf combined with full-time movement speed buff.
Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Yes and yes.
Do you have an authenticator?
I do.
Typical Weekly Playtime:
Often, now. Almost every evening. I can make your raid times. During the summer, my job gets significantly more demanding, and I also like to hike and camp, but I can always give advance notice, and I certainly get in as much playtime as I can.
Time Zone:
EST
Previous Guilds:
Midnight Ravage, alliance side, this server. Friends, from both RL and other MMOs. We did a little bit of everything. Now defunct.
Previous Raiding Experience:
I rolled my first toon a couple of weeks before zul'aman went live. I hit 70 a couple of weeks before wotlk. During Wrath, my raiding experience was split between two toons, depending on what was needed. In all, I've cleared naxx10/ some 25; VoA 10/25; EoE10; Uld10 (my favorite raid) 7/10; Ony 10; ToC10 5/5; ICC10 10/12.
Why are you applying to us:
Whilst beseeching trade for I think a "casual raiding guild, 2-3 nights a week, mature crowd," Wrathblood contacted me. We spoke a bit, ran heroic SFK later, I was directed to and perused your website where I was duly impressed. It's obvious that you're not simply about nabbing loot, but actually improving as players and facing more challenging content. The game doesn't have to be a gear grind.
Link us your Armory:
http://us.battle.net...aturnine/simple To warn you...I may be in enhancement gear, but elemental spec, or vice versa. Happens often, and I am aware.
World of Logs Report:
This is actually from the first Heroic I've run as elemental (earlier today). I was going to include a separate enhancement report but I've just learned how to use this and didn't want to push my luck.

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.
I've spoken with Wrathblood a fair bit the last couple days, and we ran H SFK.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm 30 years old (31 in august); I enjoy the outdoors all year round; I enjoy WoW all year round; I'm an avid reader of most anything; I have a degree in acting/philosophy (I know); I've been with my girlfriend for nigh 13 years now (she's a gamer too); I'm really into old folky music, woody guthrie, pete seeger, etc.
Thanks for your time!

I like the app, and Wrath had good things to say about you. Given a choice, I take it you'd rather play Enhancement? Melee has a tougher go in a lot of the T11 fights, so I try to slot only 2 per raid if possible. But, we also currently have an Elemental shaman and we just went from 3 melee to 2 (rogue/dk) so an enhancement could fit in nicely. I'll leave it up to you.
FYI, we may be switching Thursday nights to Sunday nights in the near future (people's social lives picking up as the weather gets nicer, those noobs!), would that affect your availability?
Missing a few enchants, I'd expect you to get at least the 346 pieces enchanted for raids. Our general policy is pretty flexible; if you don't want to spend thousands of gold getting the best enchant on a non-bis item that's fine, just make sure you put something on it. On tier gear and bis items you should (eventually) get the best enchants; right now we're still gearing up so not much gets sharded, but eventually the guild will be helping out with maelstrom crystals.
Hit me up on Sobieyet/Stunbolt or one of the random Sobes and I'll run a heroic with you. Provided everything goes well, I can give you an invite and you can come along with us on Tuesday.

Alright, I'll look for you on Sunday. I'm definitely more familiar with enhance, and my enhance gear set is better than my elemental (the strength offhand may look silly but it is not without reason! It's the slowest offhand weapon in the game currently, which gives me huge lava lash crits, and it is possessed of hit and mastery, both alluring stats for the aspiring enhance shammy. Str instead of Agi loses some crit and some AP, but everything I've looked into confirms it as a viable and desirable offhand), but I have no preference really as to which spec I play. I honestly wasn't applying to your guild with the hopes of an immediate raiding slot, and if you were to accept me but found two shammies in a 10 man group redundant, that's absolutely fine. I have an affliction lock as well, but he's just beginning heroics.

Had a good feeling about him right off the bat, probably because he used proper grammar and punctuation while we were talking. Has seemed like a nice guy and thoughtful in the times I've talked with him. Plus, he had me at "my spec had the highest simmed dps". As enhance, was doing ~16k single target on bosses in SFK, which I thought was pretty good.
The off-hand is STR, so I'm sure an AGIL one would be better, but that swing speed is pretty tasty.

Something I do feel I should mention, enhance shaman buffs have kind of been spread around...your DK or a warrior can provide the str/agi buff; if your DK is frost, he can provide the same melee haste buff through Improved Icy Talons as I can with my Windfury totem. DKs and shaman also shared the 10% attack power increase presence, I know we still have it, I'm not sure about DKs, but I know they don't stack. And with an elemental shaman able to provide the other buffs and Lust, there's not a very strong case to be made for an enhancement shaman in your setup. Sadly.

We manage to get most of the major buffs most raids, just a matter of from whom. Think the only ones we consistently miss are 3% damage (ret paladin et al.), 5% magic crit debuff (mage et al.), and AI. Usually plenty of sources of Agi, Daloc's Ele shaman provides 5% crit, and I give Windfury or 10% AP depending on which spec I'm playing (I'm usually SV for fights with adds, MM for single target).
I suppose the ideal comp would include a ret (or feral druid, usually don't get sunder or the bleed debuff - most fights I use the ravager pet for 4% physical damage debuff) or a mage, but tbh I don't worry about it that much. We're not trying to bull-rush Sinestra here; I've played in bleeding edge guilds (5 rogues for Freya, lolwut) and hold no misconceptions about where we stand. Heresiarch raids aren't meant to be a life-consuming project nitpicking all the little details (well except for me, but I got stuck with this job) and with the limited raiding population on Drenden Horde I try to be pragmatic. If you can stay out of fire, put out some decent numbers, and show up consistently, I'll find a slot for you to play whatever you want.
