We do still have an opening, and at this stage I'd generally run something with you to measure general awareness, DPS, etc. Obviously not possible since you're alliance. I don't want you to spend your hard-earned cash unnecessarily, so I think it would help if you get a log. Go to http://www.worldoflogs.com/help/index/ and follow the instructions. Your current guild has an account - http://www.worldoflo...m/guilds/89134/ - so you may be able to ask for help if you can't figure it out. Someone called edluva47 is uploading the logs for Scissor, not sure if that name rings a bell. A log of a full night's raid would be best, but even a couple of bosses would be fine.

Arcane is currently the worst raiding spec for mages. You would be much better specc'ing to fire for the most potential dps or frost for competitive dps and a bit more raid utility. Even if you did want to play arcane there are a few questionable talents that I'm seeing in your spec. Why did you go 1/2 imp cs? This is a pvp talent. Same goes for imp poly; this has no business being in a raiding spec. Imp arcane explsion also seems out of place. Just playing around with the talent calculator I'm getting a spec that looks more like this. http://www.wowhead.c...IRrR0RMRRof0bZc . Glyphs seem a bit off as well. Glyph of Arcane Barrage > Glyph of Mage Armor.

As far as gear goes there are definitely some improvements that could be made. Spirit is useless for mages. I know you reforged out of it, but you really should not be wearing any spirit pieces. Legs are enchanted with spirit but you should be using powerful enchanted spellthread. Mages also want to be using a one hand + off hand combination instead of a staff. Gemming seems to be a bit random. Why did you go with an int/crit gem in your head but then turn around and go with an int/haste in your gloves. General gemming guidelines are to gem 40int in everything unless the socket bonus is +10int or more. If the socket bonus isn't intellect ignore the bonus and gem 40int. I haven't read up on arcane mages in cata but I'm assuming haste is still king behind intellect so you'll want to reforge and gem to that once you are hit capped. For a wand I know it sucks trying to get a heroic wand to drop but you can join an arena team and win 3 matches and have an epic pvp wand that is comparable to the heroic ones. Enchant your gear.

Good attitude but your gear does not reflect this. The first step to being "effing" good at raiding is learning the ins and outs of your class and spec.
