Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec:
I am 2 points short of being the cookie-cutter 31/2/8. I chose 31/2/8 over 31/3/7 for the extra mutilate and backstab damage, but if at 85 I can't get to poison hit cap in my gear level I will respec 31/3/7 for the extra point in Precision. I have raided as a Mut rogue since Wrath, so roughly 2 years. As for why I am Mut, I've leveled as combat and didn't really like it, and have actually only raided twice as combat (my first 2 raids). I picked Mut because when I first started raiding I still didn't like combat and when I switched to Mut not only did I do more damage but I actually liked it so with the exception of leveling 80-82 as combat (and still not liking it) I've remained Mut. As for why I am cookie-cutter, I started following Elitist Jerks soon after I began raiding in Wrath and found with only a few exceptions (where my gear set was not a close enough approximation to their BIS setup) they have always been right in how to maximize DPS for my class.

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Yes to both. I have a bird and hopefully she likes your raid leader's voice and will talk nicely over vent--if not I will put her to away during raids (I've been told when she screams it doesn't carry nicely over vent, but in the past if she likes the raid leader she'll chatter away to him quietly which I've been told is cute). Do you have an authenticator?Yes, on both accounts as they are merged on the same Battle.net account.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
I am transitioning from being a student to being employed so currently I play a on and off during the day and then a few (or more) hours most evenings. I generally plan real life stuff around raids so it's rare that I would miss a raid (you may not believe me but even my mother knows better than to try to have dinner with me during a scheduled raid time). I am able to make all of your raid days/times as listed on your Drenden forum post (Tue-Thu, 8-12). Things are somewhat hectic in the evenings in real life right now so most of my playtime at present is during the day, but after the holidays I'll be able to go back to my regular schedule of being on most evenings.

Time Zone:
I'm in Eastern time zone.

Previous Guilds:
All are on Drenden unless otherwise noted:
Fist of Fate
Tears of the Phoenix (Ysera)
Delirium
Unseen Wrath

Previous Raiding Experience:
I started playing in BC so I've only raided Wrath content. I prefer 25m so my 10m kills are spotty; what I describe here will thus be in the 25m setting.
Naxx: full clear
Ulduar: all except Yogg, with most hard modes
TOC: full clear with 2/5 heroic
ICC: all except LK, no heroic

Why are you applying to us:
I am looking for 25m progression raiding on Drenden. There aren't many people doing that these days so you all were a natural place to look. Progression raiding has always been my style since I started raiding as I liked the challenge it presents, and I prefer the 25m over the 10m setting because of the additional challenge of coordinating 25 people to work together, and I feel like I've accomplished more as a result with a 25m kill than a 10m kill (no matter what Blizzard does to equalize the instances, getting 25 people on the same page is harder than 10). I also like your loot policy and the standards you expect from your raiders (eg consumables, gems/enchants) and they are the same that I expected when I raid lead--so I am hoping that my mentality will fit in with your raiding style. I'm applying now, at 83, to hope to secure a possible raiding spot at 85 as your Drenden forum post said recruitment for rogues was high.

A couple notes regarding my current status, as I am still leveling:
--I am actively working towards 85. That shouldn't take much longer as I am already halfway through 83.
--With respect to my current gear, I prefer to level via quests over dungeons, so that is why I'm mostly in greens. I reforged out of expertise due to the new mechanic that a dodged special is refunded 80% of the energy cost, so there is little motivation for a Mut rogue to go after expertise if you have adequate haste to regen the remainder of the 20% energy in a timely enough fashion (see http://elitistjerks....ion_guide_cata/ ). I reforged out of crit as it is no longer a primary stat for Mut.
--As I stated above, my last two points will go into Opportunity in the Subtlety tree.
--As these reputation levels are not obtainable until you start running heroics, I will have honored and then exalted reputation with Therazane for the shoulder enchant and Ramkahen for the head enchant; these will be my first tasks upon dinging 85.
--I will have maxed enchanting; I am waiting to see how far I get by leveling but whatever is left at 85 (according to Ardune, with whom I've spoken once, it's not possible to max it out via quests) I will promptly finish up as well as buy the patterns myself and other classes will need for raiding (I like having a full book).
--With respect to glyphs, for raiding/heroics I will replace Glyph of Vendetta with Glyph of Backstab, and Glyph of Evasion with Glyph of Tricks of the Trade.
--With respect to gear, at 85 I will also be working on acquiring the pre-raiding gear set described in posts 11 and 12 by Sedrikk and Sp00n (respectively) on this link: http://elitistjerks....vel_gear_list/.
--If it is necessary to state the obvious, I will also be gemmed and enchanted per the first above link prior to stepping foot in your raids.

Wow web stats reports:
I do not have any--my guild stopped raiding 25m when 4.0 hit but it was close enough to Cata that I decided I'd wait until 85 to start raiding again (school was exceptionally busy too, so that was a factor in this decision).

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.
No.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm a statistician who just finished up my graduate coursework (hooray!) and am hoping I can find some interesting work to do in this economy. My husband also plays WoW (as a hunter) but is taking a break at present due to some real life issues, and the running joke is that even though he got me into the game I'm now better than him (I think he's just being nice as he's played since the beta). I love the theorycrafting aspect of being a rogue and enjoy going to the target dummy to test out what I've read. I do my own math for my gear as I think this is fun, but will use the established spreadsheets to check my work. I also enjoy PVP (notably arena) a great deal, but I do that on my priest. Finally, I love alts and have one of each class at various stages of leveling. In scrolling up I realize that I may have expounded a bit much (the whole wall of text crits you for 5k comes to mind...), but hopefully a little extra detail isn't harmful.

This I gotta see.

It'd be a guild first.

Yes, as Wrath progressed and I got better (I've only been playing 2 or so years) the tables started to turn and I became the odd one out--not only was I as a wife DPS (most wives I come across are healers), but at the end I was putting out better DPS than he was as the husband; not by a lot, but enough to earn me bragging rights. To make things worse, his toon's name is Bluesman so when I started playing I was nicknamed Blueswoman until I became known as Cat...and towards the end people started jokingly calling him Catsman. I never really liked it, though he was a good sport about it and said he didn't mind (too much).

I absolutely love the way this app is written, and we badly need rogues. However, we're recruiting for raiding, and while Heroics are a good testing ground for raids now, at level 83 its hard to even evaluate how you'd do. The way the app is written, I feel there's an excellent chance you'd do a good job of gearing up but its too early too see much actual evidence.

This might be a rare case where its worth giving the person a speculative "friend" invite on the grounds that they've got a chance of being useful down the road. Then re-evaluate for possible raider status once 85 and the gear is up to par.

To be honest a friend/social invite is the best I could hope for at 83. I recognize that you can't evaluate my capacity to raid before I'm 85 and in adequate gear, and being a raiding guild for those reasons you may not want to pass a /ginvite until I've reached those benchmarks. But if you're willing to have me level and run heroics with you until then, that would be great; if not, I understand and can reapp once I'm 85 and geared. I'd also like to state that I understand being given a social invite doesn't secure me a raiding slot in any way, I would still have to earn that. But either way there won't be any hard feelings on my end as I know I presented you with a unique situation by apping at 83.

Very well put together app. I vote to throw out a friend rank invite and see how she does in heroics. I have a good feeling she will be a valuable and competent raider when we start pushing 25 mans. Thumbs up.
