its not free housing when the government funds such expenditures though tax dollars. the point hes trying to make is no one wants to live or work beside a homeless shelter, let alone pay for it. homeless people are more often than not on the street as a result of a mental disorder or condition, and we cant have them gathering in numbers...you know like zombies.

i just thought it was funny that he expressed his outrage by joking about a public lynching...pretty outrageous.

Thing is, its racism when the white guy says it.

Affirmative action when the black guy suggests it, and outright inhumane if the Asian says anything D:

explain how thats racist....

id agree if the context he used the term in had anything to do with a minority group but as it does not, your just dead wrong....

http://www.merriam-w...ctionary/racism
http://mw2.merriam-w...ionary/lynching

get your terms right

typical minority response, calling a white guy racist for using an inappropriate word although it has nothing to do with race.(now what i just said i guess you could consider racism)

There was an implied racist because there's some underlying context referring to race.

If you want me to get technical on your ass, blacks and immigrants usually share the larger pool of poverty than others. Shaddup - silly Canadians and their ill understanding of implications and stereotypes.

Where as the successful rich white people share the larger percentage of taxation, and thus are the majority reason public services catering to the poor, unemployed and first generation Canadians (or Americans) can exist in the first place. Your argument is semantics. Just because you happen to be poor, black, or new to a country, does not entitle you to special treatment at the unfair cost of others. But I guess you never believed in the "first come first serve" saying at your local ice cream shop.

Its not about taxation. My entire point of posting here in the first place was with emphasis on the lynching - not the housing.

and lynching has nothing to do with race, racism, prejudice or any underlying context regarding skin colour...

especially considering he was referring to lynching homeless people. an asshole? yes. but not a racist.

Lynching + white man = racist by default. Why? Historical context. Nuff argument.

I think it is firstly important to note that both these guys are Canadian. WTF Canada?!?

While you do raise a good point that Ford is making a strong bid for the "Biggest Douchey Mayor of the Year" using the racism card, I am guessing you missed that Katz is a white guy who actually kicked a black child in the face. (I googled it, he actually did kick that kid in the face and started to keep playing until the ref halted the game.) Ford's all talk, Katz on the other hand is a man of action.

Humor aside: Is Ford actually the sitting Mayor for your area Guin? If so, holy crap do I feel for ya.
