How could you run out of places to explore in a game that generates infinite stretches of ocean/continents/underground caves.

I played the free version that is on that site, and I must say I don't see the point in it. Granted I didn't really spend much time exploring what I was suppose to do, but it seems limited. I mean I was just going through and destroying blocks and placing blocks. Not sure the point of that.

Well, its a sandbox game. If you like those sorts of things, its pretty nifty. If you don't, then you won't like Minecraft either.

well i started on small, figured out the controls, climbed on some tree, made flowers different boxes...

then learned to jump + place a box but theres a skyline limit.

then i went as deep as possible, found some caves and stuff but there seems to be no reward for any of this, no goal or end to the game.

maybe i missed the point of this?

It's pretty much a sandbox game. Do what you wish. Explore caves, build forts, set shit on fire, grow crops etc. These two articles give a pretty good idea on what it's like for a new player.

The free version is 2-3 years out of date. In the paid version you have to mine resources, craft weapons/armor/tools, farm food, build stuff, and explore.
