Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec:
I'm specced Destro. I leveled in demo, but don't find it as effective in raiding. I specced demo when I got to 80.

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Yes, but I am mic shy. I get compared to a 12 year old girl.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
I play in the evenings after my daughter's bedtime. I'm online mid day after classes are out for around an hour or so.

Time Zone:
central

Previous Guilds:
FAIL, Neverending, drifters and currently Relapse into Chaos

Previous Raiding Experience:
OS3D 10, ToC 10/25, VoA 10/25, Naxx - managed to miss Kel every time. Not too familiar with the boss with the "dance", OS 10/25, EoE 10/25, Ony 10/25, first wing of ICC once before I went on hiatus, so not too familiar there.

Why are you applying to us:
"Casual" guilds are too casual for my tastes.

Link us your Armory:
http://www.wowarmory...den&cn=Malefict

Wow web stats reports:
I will be honest, I don't actually have a clue what these are.

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.
I recognize names, but I can't say that I "know" them.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm 22, army wife to a deployed soldier, mother to a 1.5 year old daughter named Emma. My name is Mandi.

Would like to add that your raid times are exactly the times i've been looking for. Most guilds start raids at around 9pm server time, and go till midnight or later. I was looking to start earlier than that and end earlier due to my early morning classes.

I'm seeing problems left and right, will elaborate later but not looking good.

I'll start the elaboration:

Destro hasn't been viable in raiding really since late in Ulduar. It's somewhere between 1k (demo) and 1.5k (afflic) behind. Are you able to spec into afflic preferably and learn it or at least demo?

Very minimal experience in ICC. This guild is working on HM's at the current moment. How much knowledge do you have of the later fights? Where is this knowledge from?

World of Logs (new) or Wow Web Stats (old) are sites that track your every cast, death, and everything in between. This is a measure of both your awareness and dps. Look into running a pug this week and finding out how to log it. A log can show us much of how you play.

PvP gear is great and all for PvP. I would look to find improvements that don't have "gladiator's" in them.

When raiding chances are you will have a shadow priest or boomkin and don't need 16% hit. Do you have a secondary set for this?

Spec:

If you hadn't taken hit talents you're 55 points over hit cap. Since you did take hit talents, you're 134 points over hit cap. And you're using 3 hit gems + icewalker to boots.

Glyphs:

Glyph of immolate is inferior most of the time. There are certain scenarios with 4-piece t9 and low spirit where it's decent, but in most setups glyph of LT wins out.

Gear:

PvP neck, pvp trinket, healer trinket, off-hand that you should have replaced in a 5-man, nightmare tear in belt (locks don't use those), legs that should've been replaced with random dungeon badges, cloak is a terrible choice for your first purchase with frost badges (tells me you don't know how to gear and what to pick up to improve asap).

Looked at your demo spec as well, don't have 3/3 MC and you're not using glyph of quick decay.

At this point I'm not seeing anything that shows definitive knowledge of your class, so I'm leaning towards no unless I see a log of you pulling ~11k in ICC or ~10k in RS/VoA.

I wouldn't say destro's not viable, in simcraft BiS it's actually ahead of a demo lock geared for maximum rdps and about 600 dps behind affliction. You just tend to see bigger gaps because all the good players go affliction for max dps or demo to buff the raid. Also, as a guild we've always encouraged people to play the spec that they like/comfortable with - losing 600 theoretical dps (or w/e the number may be) isn't as important as pulling the numbers they should for whatever they happen to play. I'd take a competent BM hunter or frost mage before a retarded warrior.

I would like to see you work a bit on your gear. There are way too many ways now for decent gear to be obtained for you to still be rocking an ilvl 200 OH. I would assume your gear is so bad due to taking a break from the game. Replacing the pieces that you can prior to raiding is the easy part.

Regem so that you are not over hit cap and more importantly, gemming to the best capacity of your class/spec.

I think with some work (mostly on your part) we could get you in and see how you do. I would like it if you could gain some experience in ICC, either 10 or 25 man, as having to learn those fights for the first time on heroic can be overwhelming. There are a few people in guild who run 10 mans and I am sure if you ask, they would let you in.

Get in contact with me in game and we can chit chat about what things need to be done in order for you to join us. Again, most of the work is going to have to come from you (ie: running instances to get better gear where you can, learning what gems/glyphs go with what spec, how to play the spec effectively). If this sounds like something you can accomplish then I am pretty sure we can work with ya. If you feel as if what is being asked of you is unfair then thanks for applying.

If you have any questions feel free to ask them.

I've been working on replacing my OH for a while now, if there's an OH from a 5man that i'm overlooking, please let me know as i've been trying to damnedest to get the shriveled heart from H HoR for several runs now with no luck.

I can spec affliction, and can play it.. but strongly prefer destro.

The lacking gear is a result from a 2 month hiatus. I'm currently pursuing replacements from ToC 10-25 etc etc. I'm also pursuing a replacement for those poor legs that just have me feeling sad lol.

I will replace the hit rating gems, suggestions are appreciated. I was told by another guild to replace my glyph of LT with the glyph of immolate a while back, so that explains the glyph.

My demo spec is not active at all currently. While on a two month hiatus I was hacked, totally respecced and regemmed in the process. I've been working on the regemming (blizz restored my lost items, but since my gear was not removed they did not replace my old gems), I redid my destro spec but since I haven't touched demo since leveling i left it as is for now. It's not a spec I ever use, so I saw no point to spending the gold to redo the spec.

The cloak was my first choice as it was my worst piece of gear at the time. May have been a bad choice, but it was the one I made at the time as it was the BIGGEST upgrade comparatively to my other pieces at the time. If you know the name of an OH from a 5man I can get for an upgrade, please do let me know so I can go after it. I've been chasing the shriveled heart in H HoR since I came back from hiatus to no avail. I'm working on those pants... Don't have much of an explanation for the pvp pieces other than i'm working on replacements with ToC 10/25 etc.

Your criticism is appreciated. Always looking to improve.

Get RAWR and learn how to use it to optimize your current gemming to get the most out of the gear you have. It can also be used to build upgrade lists of gear that will help you decide what is the biggest dps upgrade. The cloak might have been the biggest upgrade item level wise but it would probably have been better to start collecting some pieces of T10 gear for the set bonuses.

Small red flag for me. Why should we tell you what gear to obtain? Do the research and find out what you should be looking for; shows us that you care enough to put in the effort to improve on your own without requiring your hand to be held.

Again, same issue as before. Don't go solely on what other people tell you to do unless you read it on EJ and understand the reasoning behind it.

Shriveled Heart is fine, that's the best you'll get outside of a raid. I'd also look into getting the ICC craftable gear (legs/boots)

3 things I'd like to see:

  • Some kind of combatlog of you in a raid, preferably ICC. If you don't know how to post one, go to worldoflogs.com and start reading
  • An explanation of the LK fight in your own words. You have basically zero raid experience, have you done any reading on your own on the encounters we've killed and are working on?
  • A BiS list of items available from the bosses we've killed to date, with brief overview of what you're going for and why.

I see what you mean about RAWR. I used it to figure out the regemming of my gear after my account was restored to me and it is where I got the recommendation for the three gems I have with hit on them.
After my hiatus, no I have not actually done any reading on my own of the encounters. I've done a little tankspot browsing, but that doesn't add up to much. Reading up on encounters and watching videos is certainly easy enough for me to do when I get a spare bit of time to do so in.
I've now registered on worldoflogs, working on reading on how to use it.

I've definitely looked at the ICC craftables. Working on saving up for them.

Again, very much appreciated.

Well, I wasn't asking you all to tell me what gear to obtain per se, i've recently returned from a hiatus and was basically looking for a direction to go in from where I am now.

I suppose I will look into reapplying when I improve some. Thank you all for giving me a direction to go in after my hiatus. I thoroughly enjoyed running in RS with you guys and would love to be able to join your family in the future.
