Been playing around with AVR and I must say it is pretty neat. I would highly suggest taking a peak at it, I wouldn't be surprised if this mod turned out to be a required mod.
Can it at least be only required for noobs? I at least like feeling like I know something about the fights and act accordingly. Although the things that deal with Sindragosa and LK seem pretty cool for all.

The main reasons I enjoy it are:
A circular radius that shows anywhere from 1-500 yards around your toon and highlights the people who are within the radius.
As Rystorm said, it is like having a white board in front of 24 other raiders. This is a HUGE thing for me since I may not always be the best in describing what I have in my head.
Having clear and distinct areas in which to drop things like Ice Tombs.
I have yet to play with the raid aspect of the mod, so I am not sure if it is going to have anything worth having.
Edit: If for nothing else check this out: AVR and Malleable Goo
Also, here is a video of AVR and AVRE (The boss encounter mod that goes with AVR): AVR and AVRE

Can we see what you draw if we don't have the addon? Because that's probably one of the only reasons I'd get it.
Looks too cluttered personally - esp in those screenies on mmo.

Golden Rules of WoW:
1. Avoid the shiny stuff - nuff said.
2. Dead dps = 0 dps.
3. DBM. Get it.
4. STFU on vent.

No you can't hec. The mod broadcasts out to people who have the mod and only them. I have not seen anything from the Boss mod part of it, so I dont know how well I will like it. I also think that after I draw stuff on screen, you all can turn it off if you don't want to see it during the encounter.

Yea if one person doesn't have the mod it screws up the whole raid.

I dont know if it screws up the raid, but I know that the person without the mod won't be able to see any of the things drawn. Again, after I draw everything out, each person can keep the drawings on their screen or get rid of them by deleting the Scene that I created.

Person w/o mod stands wherever the hell he wants when he gets ice tombed throwing everyone else off. Just something on the top of my head. Unless we post a pic for them and they have a photographic memory.
In other news no customers = I can slack off like crazy.

With DBM, at least, you can turn off a lot of the warnings that you don't need.
I have no clue if AVR has the same features, but I have to imagine that they would.
I'm curious what effect it has on framerates.

That which doesn't kill you gets to try again later.
