Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec (ie: mostly played holy, just went shadow 2
weeks ago):

7/57/7 MM. Don't really have enough ArP to take advantage of this spec, but I was SV for a while and wanted to try something different. I happen to like MM because there are more buttons to push and CD management plays a bigger role.

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
Have vent, I really should stop by Best Buy and pick up a new mic one of these days.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
Not sure what I'm going to do when I run out of characters to level, but I'm usually on for raids.

Time Zone:
EST.

Previous Guilds:
Heresiarch - Drenden (7/09 - present)
Exodus - Ysondre (3/09 - 7/09)
Heresiarch - Drenden (11/07 - 3/09)

It's a Heresiarch sandwich y'all.

Previous Raiding Experience:
Classic WoW - None while 60 as I started to play in TBC.
TBC -
  • (Heresiarch, resto shaman) Kara, Gruul, Mag, SSC, TK, ZA, MH, BT full clears. Kael/Vashj killed before badge gear / attunement nerf, first ZA bear group horde side, most Horde-side server firsts. No Sunwell progress before Wotlk nerfs due to lack of interest from raiders.
Wotlk-
  • (Heresiarch, hunter) T7 - Naxx, Malygos, Sarth3D, Archavon cleared. Also served as an officer and led raids when Mucknip was busy touching himself. Transferred to Exodus a couple of weeks before the end of T7.
  • (Exodus, hunter) T8 - Ulduar, Emalon cleared. World 2nd Mimiron kill, world 5th Yogg kill. Top 10 world and top 3 US kills on just about every hard mode.
  • (Heresiarch, lock) T9 - ToC 5/5, ToGC 2/5. Main job was to make mages look bad and give Nuadaa a hard time.

Why are you applying to us:

I'm bored at work like Morb and decided to kill some time before lunch. Also, I've always liked playing a hunter and once upon a time I did put a lot of work into the guy. That and I'm applying for the job to make rogues look bad.

Link us your Armory:
http://www.wowarmory...nden&n=Sobieyet

Wow web stats reports:
http://worldoflogs.c...one/?enc=bosses
ToC 25 during the off-week. Still managed to outdamage 3 recruits, 6 vets, and a certain ranged DPS lead with the husky voice that shall go unnamed. One caveat, my raw DPS will suck for a while. There's only so much I can do in Ulduar gear on a faceroll fight. But if there's any sort of movement/awareness/pseudo-complicated fight I'll make the most of it. For example, I was 11th on DPS in that log, but 1st on DPS time (93.2% with Forte second at 88.8%) and 3rd in overall damage.

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.
I take great pride in knowing that I've offended or pissed off everyone in the guild at some point.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I think I've done enough of that in 1,893 posts. I went over most of it in my old app anyway (It seems I have a history of slut-shaming role leads): http://www.heresiarc...yit-80-warlock/

If accepted as a hunter does that mean Nuadaa is the new Warlock Skill Lead? And can you live with that? :D

Well that's like saying Forte is the Elemental Shaman Skill Lead.

...

Moving on.

Besides, if I just wanted to show people up I'd roll mage. Tons of people to pick on and it's an OP class with plenty of opportunities for flexing epeen.

Going after Oshibo and Civic would actually be kinda fun, probably be one of the tougher classes for me to play catch-up on and I think they'd enjoy it. I don't know if I'll get much of a kick out of wtfpwning with the hunter, not like I can take pride in beating Passa and Solar might emo or something.

Speaking of priests, I'm curious why Adelyn is outhealing Nobonine so much on Rotface (~about 50%, 3 million to 2 million): http://worldoflogs.c...sses&boss=36627

Any ideas Guin? Spell priorities look different for them, I don't know enough about disc to comment. Also could be a lack of button mashing, shrug. He does outgear her by a good tier or so, she's barely better geared than my hunter.

Adelyn is casting moar bubbles. Still no prom in her rotation which takes 1 GCD for mindless healing every 10 seconds or so...
If you look at the hits/spell, it seems adleyn is pulling off more casts of her top 3 spells. Much more casts infact.

I need more disc play before my thoughts become remotely valid however... i just rip of better players styles and rotations, then boast about them in healer chat.

Any priest in Heresiarch that out dpses me in 10 man wins 1kg. Trash doesn't count. Civic doesn't either. Umm.... neither do any priests that join and turn out to be really good at shadow. Only Sobe.

As a professor of the discipline arts, I will take a look at these logs and get back to you momentarily.

If you ripped off better players, shouldn't you be somewhat gud by now?

Why 10-man? And 1k gold isn't much incentive, I could make that during a long poop.

Because I shine in 10 man. I can do nearly as much dps in 10 man as in 25 man. Sometimes more. I think with a better computer i'd easily push 8.5k in 25. Currently i'm going in at like 2.1 fps every pull.

After taking 2 milliseconds of looking at this I have made my conclusion. The answer is simple. Nobonine hardly ever uses penance. Adelyn is also throwing out a lot more PW:S with the PW:S glyph and t8 4set bonus. If she were to use PoM which should be a large chunk of her healing then she'd completely and utterly blow Nobo out of the water... even more. To get to the point. Adelyn knows disc fairly well. Nobo doesn't seem to know what's up.

Having 2 disc priests in one raid is pretty senseless. Have Nobo go holy imo.

I lol'd.
Infact disc priests are now the most stackable healing spec, and having two is greatly desirable (over taking say 2 druids, or two shammans).
many top-quality guilds seem to be priest stacking raids as a new trend. Two holy priests works together usually quite well, but because of the the way priest coefficients on instant cast spells seem to scale, priests become increasingly potent (disc especially) as gear improves.

as a general rule, disc specced healers have 2 possible roles that max out their worth to the raid:

1. Shield spammer - over 60% of your effective healing done should be coming from shield spam, and your job is to blanket the raid while throwing penance on CD at a tank or sobe standing in fire (loldpstime). Flash heals in this role are comparatively low to role number 2:

2. Tank support. Grace on the MT at all times. Weakened soul on all other tanks at all times. You get to be serror's bitch for the night, healing what he does not.

If we are going to continue to bring more then 1 disc priest to progression raids, i think we should start handing out more concise healing assignments, as the disc setup in particular can overlap and cause all of inefficiency if not organized right.

see http://elitistjerks....adel_awaits/p3/ for discussion on healer comp.
http://penancepriest.blogspot.com/ also good resource for you to learn wtf your talking about oshi

I fail to see how having more than 1 disc priest is benefical at all. What do they bring? Grace (9% inc healing taken) and Renewed Hope (3% raid-wide dmg mitigation buff). Not stackable. You can have 3 stacks of Grace on each tank I guess... but it's going to have 100% uptime on whatever the priest is healing. So having two disc priests healing one tank is pointless as far as that's concerned.

Renewed Hope should also have 100% uptime, Furthermore, Grace is a buff which only applies to the healing done by the priest that gives the buff specifically. It's not a raid buff like Tree of Life.

I can see how having 2 disc priest could be useful in only 1 case. If one is healing tanks and the other is PW:S spamming the raid. Raid shielding is only particularly useful during encounters in which HEAVY dmg is taken (to the point where people are nearly getting one-shotted). A disc priest should be stomped out by any real raid healing spec.

Having one disc priest on MT and one on OT is also an option. Not exactly necessary but an option. With Serror in the raid, we'd be running with half or more of our healer comp specced for tank healing. While the tanks will surely survive, we already have the other healers calling out for innervates as it is.

I don't understand how Weakened Soul is desirable as a debuff. One priest can achieve this anyway.

Now in your own words, i'd like you to tell me how bringing 2 disc priests is more beneficial than not. I took a gander at your link but it was a thread covering ICC in general. I scrolled around and saw stuff about disc > holy for saurfang, but didn't bother to continue searching for the part where people purposefully bring two disc priests. Enlighten me.

Honestly, it sounds like you want to bring 2 disc priests in order to fulfill a role that i'm 100% confident I can do by myself.

There are certain fights where having more than one discipline priest could be a plus and i'll give you that. But Rotface certainly is not one of them. Maybe Saurfang, Stinky & Precious.... yea that's about it. On a fight such as Festergut you really only need 1 disc priest. Raid bubbles when needed, tank heals when needed. That should be easily manageable.

Ok, so I went back and read all 3 pages of that thread. Every time bringing 2 disc was mentioned it was about healing marks from SF. Nothing about using them consistently because it's a better healing comp.

This all kind of makes me want to reroll discipline.

So apparently I failed and used vendor ammo in ToC last night. Did the cooking daily for the first time in months after running the random heroic; didn't want to waste ammo pew pewing rhinos and I forgot to switch. I asked Forte to make me the good stuff so I should be gtg.
