Dragon Age is awesome

I just installed Dragon Age this morning and played about an hour before work. After playing through the mage origin story, I can conclusively say
that this game is great! Really hearkens back to the old time RPGs like Baldur's Gate (naturally, since they're both from BioWare). I can see this as being a big time sink.

Though I am a bit disappointed by the character creator being the customization snob that I am, everything else is about what I expected. The dialogue tends to be quite witty and lol worthy while the story is enjoyable and possessing of the depth standard for bioware games.

I LOVE this game. It's been years since I played an RPG that wasn't some form of MMO.
Just finished the bit with the dwarves where the chick is reciting the rhyme while you're trying to get through the cavern:
"First day, they come and catch everyone.
Second day, they beat us and eat some for meat.
Third day, the men are all gnawed on again.
Fourth day, we wait and fear for our fate.
Fifth day, they return and it's another girl's turn.
Sixth day, her screams we hear in our dreams.
Seventh day, she grew as in her mouth they spew.
Eighth day, we hated as she is violated.
Ninth day, she grins and devours her kin.
Now she does feast, as she's become the beast."
GAH! Creepy!
I'm working on the anvil section now. Stupid game is too much fun and causing me to not get on wow to get my little midsummer pet!

I did, I went with the destroy option.
I'm doing the good guy thing the first time around (aside from taking assassin contracts) and doing pretty well. Alistair is totally in love with me. I figure once I finish it on this toon I'll make a weasel character and do it that way.
Have you done the little expansion adventures? I've bought them, just haven't run any of them yet.

Touché Sobe, one could argue that he was an optional boss tho. Altho if you wanna lump MMOs into that lot, Eastern MMOs are notorious for retarded grinds.
Edit - More on topic, I actually gave Dragon Age the 'ol college try. I was done with it after about an hour :\

To a 13-year old Asian boy there's no such thing as an optional boss.
Did you like the Baldur's Gate games? I thought DA was the best incarnation of that type of game since BG.

I did when I was younger and it didn't really do anything for me. I'm thinkin wRPGs are just not my bag, which is funny because I was all about Dungeons and Dragons.

This is so true, JRPGs are just like an action movie, no boring stuff just all action all the time.
Footage JRPGs getting straight to the action, no boring stuff
