I'd like to see an afflic lock some time too. I mean, you only need one shadow priest to give the hit debuff but we still bring more than that even though we're a low PoS dps... SELL OUTS!

I've been meaning to go affliction for Yogg, my 2nd spec was demo for when they actually buffed demo for a whopping 3 days on PTR. Pretty sure I can do another 20-30% DPS on Yogg as affliction, might have to if we start doing 2-watcher.

At the level we raid it's all about "bring the player not the class." You'll probably out-DPS a couple of mages we have on a consistent basis, even as a spriest. I'm tempted to roll boomkin and start embarassing people once Mobility hits 80.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Just checked my demo buff and I'd give an extra 73 sp over totem of wrath. A little over 100 when I pop CDs every 2.1 mins. Not bad at all.

I have no idea what the sp scaling coefficient is for the different classes. For the sake of brutally-dumb math let's say 100 DPS per caster. I figure to lose about 1100 DPS switching (depends on the fight), so we'd need 11 casters in the raid to make it worthwhile. This doesn't account for healers who also benefit.

Then again I get the feeling there are a number of people who wouldn't get the full 100 DPS - just about everyone who doesn't do as much deeps as they should for their gear. The selfish jerk in me says "why gimp myself for noobs who aren't going to make the most out of the buff anyway?"

I can't speak for other classes, but for me 73 sp goes a LONG way. I'd say that would be an extra 150-220 dps. I challenge you to test your dps as demo. What other use would dual spec have for a non-hybrid player that doesn't pvp.

I usually go demo on faction champions just for survivability. Next time we don't have an elemental shaman in 25s I'll give it a go. Though I'm not hit capped in demo which really sucks (lose 3% hit from talents that I get as destro and affliction).
