Yeah, I was in Project X with Scairkrow, and without putting a critical eye to his equipment/spec, he did fine in the raids we were on together. He was one of the better DPSers in the guild and (again, from the perspective of someone who as meeing and not really paying attention to the ranged guys) he seemed to know what he was doing.

And I get the vague impression "you gem like Nuadaa" is NOT a compliment...

Gemming straight haste is tough to justify. Straight crit is worse. Spell-pen is just funny. Also don't see the point of the nightmare tear when he's got 2 sp/stam gems. 2 green gems vs 0 red gems is cute too. Also using the wrong leg enchant, but that's an afterthought at this point.

0 points in pyroclasm. With your gear you'll get a +70% crit rate on conflag in 25s. +70% uptime for an extra 6% damage for 3 points.

Same with Vick, maybe you're good at mashing buttons but it doesn't seem like you know much about the class. I'd have to see some kind of log to evaluate the mashing part.

Your shoulder enchant needs an Upgrade, I dont even see any hodir at all? You should def start farming them everyday to get an upgraded shoulder.
You def need to change out your gems, instead of using straight haste +12sp and +10haste, Spirt isnt a horrible enchant to use but you could drop that
+10 stats gem and enchant that to your chest and make better worth of your boots maybe using ice walker since your not hit capped, 14% with a shpriest 17% without
Maybe make use of the Suppression talent, Specing into fel synergy and shadow fury I see to be pointless unless your pvping.
didnt put any points into pyroclasm, You should make better use of that talent, Also your glyph of deathcoil is a pvp glyph you would want glyph of conflag instead of deathcoil for raiding.

Over all, Ive seen better Maybe work on yourself a little bit and re-apply in the future show your understanding of your gear and how to gem and enchant, Dont just go suddenly re-gem and re-enchant ,That doesn't really show that you understand how to manage your gear only says you changed cause you were told to.

Actually he should be using straight SP most of the time. The only time Sp/Haste comes into play is if a SP socket bonus makes it worthwhile.

For example, Scairkrow's chest. It has a red socket and a yellow socket with a +7 SP bonus. Now it's a matter of 46 SP (2 reds) or 42 SP and 10 haste (1 red / 1 orange). In this example it's actually more beneficial to use 1 red / 1 orange. Most items don't have such a good socket bonus, so it's better to go straight SP for those. You can figure out the exact cost/benefit by plugging the item into a spreadsheet.

Depending on a lock's gear +15 spirit can be a superior enchant for DPS. Don't assume that 10 stats is always better.

There's a basic level of preparation we expect from everyone. If you were in the guild to begin with or recommended by a raider we're a bit more lax, but with the number of recruits we have atm we're probably more picky than usual. I don't think it's unfair to expect someone to know the basics. PvP glyphs/gems are the sort of things you should take care of before you app if you intend to raid.

For the love of christ, do demo locks exist? They all go destro for deeps which seems to have plateaued anyway. I almost want to level a lock myself just to give people my demo buff. I'm not even sure what it is since i've never raided with one but i've heard that it's 460 sp, confirm? I know all of the top guilds raid witha demo lock and ret pally and bring an ele sham only if one of those are missing. Dslcesiisxliexic does it, too.

The buff is based on the lock's personal spell power. Wasn't worth switching for me since I was so far behind in gear most of the time I've raided on the lock. The other locks don't play destro as well as they should so I'm not sure if switching to demo would be the best idea. It's not a hard rotation, but there's a couple of CDs and pet management.

And locks tend to go demo for top guilds because even as destro our dps is shit. It's either get sat for a mage or go demo. But I out-DPS our mages on most fights, so /shrug.

I'd like to see an afflic lock some time too. I mean, you only need one shadow priest to give the hit debuff but we still bring more than that even though we're a low PoS dps... SELL OUTS!
