Dragndraggore - Level 80 Discipline Priest:

Discuss your talents and tell us how long you have been this particular spec (ie: mostly played holy, just went shadow 2
weeks ago):
I am currently 57/14 Discipline/Holy. This has allowed me to get the most out of the strengths of the discipline spec and I've glyphed for power word shield and my flash heals. The shield not only is fantastic imo on a main tank but also really lends to letting me hit very low health party members and allow the raid healer time to get to that person. My renews are also always ticking and I just find this spec to be very powerful in raids. (not to mention pennance being a fantastic talent!)

Ventrilo and do you have a mic:
I have both.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
I am on almost everyday and the raid times are no issue at all.

Time Zone:
EST, same as server time.

Previous Guilds:
Praetorian Guards (Mal'ganis server alliance), Eden (Mal'ganis server alliance), Valhalla (drenden server alliance)
I have not yet joined any horde guilds as this is the first time I've played on the horde side.

Previous Raiding Experience:
Classic WoW: I started playing very early on when WoW originally came out. I raided Molten Core and Ony when that's all there was. I was a main tank and went on to main tank about every instance since that time on the alliance side. (Dwarf warrior). I have been healing for awhile now with my discipline priest who used to be a dwarf until I did the faction change. We have stopped raiding on the alliance side so my friend and I are hoping to find a home on the horde for some raiding. I have done all the instances and raids up thru TOC and have completed 10 man toc and have been working on 25 man toc.

Why are you applying to us:
I ran an instance with Wrathblood from your guild and noticed that they tanked really well and I inquired about the guild. As mentioned above, I'm looking for a guild since just changing factions a couple of days ago.

Link us your Armory:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...cn=Drandraggore

(i am currently working on my head and shoulder enchants with this character)

Do you know anyone in guild? If so please list your pals.
Nope, just the aforementioned instance run with Wrathblood.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm 39, married, two sons. I currently live in Pennsylvania but am moving back to Wisconsin near January sometime. I love fall and winter, not a fan of summer. I love football season :) GO PACKERS! Also, I like movies a bunch and watch blu ray's all the time. My favorite thing besides my boys is my 52" hi def samsung tv with 120hz that I use to watch my movies and also play my computer on. I don't know if I could ever play WoW another way now! lol

Oh, I should mention, the last guild I was in was very casual, where the people never learned the fights, everything was explained ever night and every fight, and it took 20 mins between wipes. I can *not* raid that way! :) (one of the reasons we've come over here) back in the 40 man days it was fairly strict and I'm just looking for somewhere that can have fun, but take the raiding seriously! Thanks!

Gear is pretty good from what I know. No gems that really stick out as OMG WTF WOULD YOU PUT THAT THERE.

Good, this was for sure going to come up. Also, what other characters have you raided/played on (gives us an idea about raid experience if its not all on this toon).

Good! We expect you to know the fights before going into them, we only do explanations before first time pulls (figure out logistics etc).

Overall I like the attittude, gear, seems to know his spec (lol idk much about priests) but you seem like an overall good person. Hopefully one of the healer officers responds :)

Either as a side effect of your faction change, or you've been raiding on a different character, this toon has almost no recorded kills of any lich king bosses.
Other than that, your gear is nice, I like the gems/enchants. Besides the aforementioned helm and shoulders, you need to enchant your cloak (tailoring enchant?)

Not really sure if we have room for a priest atm, but I'll look into it.

@ serror: as we no longer have a disc priest raiding, and as my disc spec is really just a pvp spec, AND as we only have 1 holy paladin i would say a disc priest would fit in nicely.

apart from a slightly lower crit rating then I would go with for disc(result of gear i guess), talents are perfect, geming is perfect (although i would do sp/int instead of pure SP or pure INT in each socket) example being if you have 2 sockets, one with 23SP 1 with 20int, the 2 12/10 gems give you 1 more net SP.

nice shoulder enchant lulz

Ran heroic HoS with him. Was a pretty dreadful group, even by the standards of pugs (the lock, feral druid and hunter posted a combined 5k dps despite almost constant AoE opportunities), yet thanks to Drandraggore we ended up with just 1 death the entire way (and that was when the lock DC'ed at the top of the stairs during the Brann event. I even DC'ed briefly during our first attempt on it, and everyone was still alive when I got back (though Brann was down at like 20% and eventually died. I suspect the dps couldn't generate enough aggro to pull off him)). When things were dicey (which they often were), he buckled down and healed solidly, and when things were under control he'd help dps and ended up doing 420 dps for the run (better than 1/3 of the lock's total, and even leading the party in dps on a couple of the shardling AoE pulls, which was entertaining). Not that I'm an advocate of smite-based dps, but during a sometimes difficult run, he kept the presence of mind to be aware of when things were under control and when they weren't, and to act accordingly.

I'd just like to put my 2c in here. I've been main spec disc longer than i've played as shadow and a couple things irk me a bit. First of which is your itemization. Don't take this the wrong way, because i'm looking forward to seeing more raiding discs priests. They're pretty rare and most guilds only take a couple. Anywho, you should really gear yourself towards crit; it's your bread and butter. However, i'm assuming that you were recently shadow seeing as you're a small bit shy of being hit capped. I never found MP5 to be an issue since you take 50% imp regen in combat and Rapture is a beast. So i'd suggest putting lightweave on your cloak, icewalker on your boots, and definitely take that 20 int out of your belt.

Second, I see that you like to spam renew on the raid. This would be a big NO for a discipline priest. There's nothing wrong in speccing into imp renew since you dont have much choice before getting to inspiration. But if you try to raid heal then you're basically being a 30% effective holy priest. Discipline is about on par with holy pallies for tank healing. I do however like Glyph of Power Word: Shield. It's fun to know exactly how much your bubbles absorb.

Finally, I suggest speccing 1/2 Grace. With a 50% proc chance it'll still be up the entire fight because you should definitely be healing the tank more than twice every 15 seconds. <-- Tip from EJ.

I bet you'd make a great pvper. Undead has the best racials for disc priest imo. It's nice to be able to lol at wyvern stings and seduces.

Thanks for the replies!

A few quick things... go check out the character Dorri (alliance dwarf in the guild valhalla on drenden) in the armory. He is who I have done most of my raiding on and has been my main since back when there was only MC and ONY. Dran here has not been to too many raids yet but I understand raiding and the fights very well from main tanking them.

I was shadow levelling of course then went Disc a number of months ago. So my hit rating is definitely from having some gear that was just plain better than my non-hit rating gear. Obviously I am running badge runs all the time as well to replace all of that as quickly as possible. Oshibo: absolutely I am always eager to get opinions especially from folks who have played a spec previously or longer than I have. The 20 INT gem was left over from when I was actually lower with mana and is my last one to replace and I'll do it today with a combination of SP+INT or Crit as you suggest. I would definitely like as my gear is now improving to move towards a lot more crit. If you don't mind I'll keep in touch with you to get advice in this area.

Wanted to clear up the renew question tho, and I just meant that, while healing the mt or ot I will slap a PW:S on a raid member if I see them almost dead, and usually throw a renew on them just to help out. But that is completely secondary to me healing the tank.

Thanks for the advice on the 1/2 grace, I didn't think it would be worth it but I agree that it really should be up most of the time. I will look into this today.

Wrath: thanks for the kind words and yes, that did get a bit hairy especially when you d/c'd and we had no tank lol.

Serror: I'll find ya in game.

Thanks all.
