57-14-0 Elemental Shaman. I started playing this build in Wrath, swapping from Enhance in Burning Crusade. The reason behind my changing was purely playstyle, I didn't like how enhance felt after the changes. I run a Standard talent setup for Ele, but my glyphs are a little different. I run with Lightning Bolt, Totem of Wrath, and Lava. I recently changed from Flameshock to Lava since the last patch because I have the 2 piece set bonus from t8 which is the same effect as the new flameshock glyph.

I have Vent, and a working Mic.

Typical Weekly Playtime:
Currently my playtime is an open book. I will be starting school in Jan, but this should not interfere with raid time.

Naxxramas, Obsidian Sanctum, Eye of Eternity, Ulduar (Have not downed Ignis, and only Hodir from the keepers and on), Trail of the Crusader (up to but not including Twin Val'kyr), Onyxia's Lair

I have only done one Hard mode, EoE 10 "A Poke in the Eye"

Why are you applying to us:
I have heard good things about this guild from anyone who's ever mentioned it, and anyone whom I've ever grouped with has been top notch. One of my friends recently joined the guild as well and spoke very highly of it. Also the raid times for the guild fit perfectly with my present schedule, as well as my future schedule.

Forte There's an accent on the e, but special characters apparantly don't mix well with the board . If you were going to type it out in game you would hold alt and hit 0233 on the numpad.

My previous guild did not use them despite my suggestions to do so. No one else in the guild seemed to have an intrest in it so it became a moot point.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm a 25 year old male, married with no kids although my wife plays WoW as well. I spent 6 years in the US Air Force, and will be starting school in January. I started playing MMOs with Dark Age of Camelot when I was about 14 and I've been hooked ever since. I've been playing WoW (with a few breaks) since Vanilla, I got my first character to 60 roughly when they overhauled the PvP/Honor system. I'm a care-free laid-back kinda guy with a sense of humor to match. That being said, when it comes time to start a boss encounter I'm all business. As a Raider I'm a quick learner, and I always show up to a raid with flasks, food, and the encounters researched before hand. I'm a big lore junkie, so for me raiding is all about seeing the content. All the plot lines and juicy story bits come to a head in the raids, and I prefer to see them first hand as opposed to reading about it. Not to mention raiding is just fun anyway

in your application you mentioned 2pc t9 and a reference to flame shock, i'm pretty sure you meant teir 8.

the point is, this is the option that a lot of elemental shaman are taking in lue of recent changes to flame shock and its glyph and lava burst. So that isn't 'weird'. Unless you were trying to just BS to fill up application space

your gear choices are a little strange, but i'm chalking these things up to you simply not having access to better and/or these are the best things you've come across. No propperly thinking elemental shaman wants mp5 or spirit and you have both, but the amounts are small so it is a non issue.

totem of EW is also a +, I always wonder about elemental shaman who do not have it.

Your hit rating is very high, but that is okay. ToC is rich with hit rating gear for some fucking reason and I'm having a similar problem, if I could turn my excess of hit rating into haste i'd be in heaven, but i can't, so it's moot.



If you could please download The DPS addon "Recount", head to thunderbluff and do about 800,000 damage to the boss dummy there and post some screen shots of your spell damage totals(aka, % totals) so i could kind of get an idea of how you manage your rotation, please. (since you do not have access to any WOL or WWS reports)

Also, if you have not heard of Binkenstein, I'd suggest you spend any freetime you have while your application is under consideration getting to know him and the work he's done for the elemental shaman community(Don't worry, you can just google his name)


Over all, this is a good application, your lack of experiance in Ulduar is kind of a negative, but that is easily an access thing(if your guild can't kill Mim, of course you dont have access to that content and content after it)

there's really no reason for us to bring only one elemental shaman, especially with the recent DPS buff we got. Certainly enough in guilds with a more feirce idea of performance, filling the spot with a pure dps that can obviously do more damage might be an better, but in this guild, if this guy can bring the numbers, there's no reason we shoudln't roll with two or three elemental shaman per raid, Especially if it makes the difference between raiding, and not because we didn't have enough people show the fuck up. What would happen, is one elemental shaman would use ToW, while the others would use Searing totem, which is just a DPS increase for them of course.

Another good assumption. This is the best I've managed to get my mits on. The other rub is my previous guild had four Ele shaman that raided regularly, so it was high competition when the few Ele pieces did drop.

From what Inno says, your app, and your recount post you seem like a pretty solid choice overall. Above all else, 2 things will make you stand out - attitude and attendance. If you can make our raid times being Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sun 745-11 and are willing to put the effort in to learning some of the fights you might not have as much experience on if any, than I think you'll make a good fit. Ill talk to the officers and give them my approval on this app tonight.

No chain lightning in your rotation. It was recently discovered that a Chain Lightning-after-Lava-burst is a higher DPS output than straight Lightning bolt spam(because of the changes to shamanism). It's okay, having not heard of Binkenstein, I can understand why you didn't know this. On shorter fights, Blasting CL on every cooldown is perfectly acceptable, but longer fights, like Beasts and Yogg-Saron, you really have to manage your mana or you'll go oom.

Other then that, these numbers look good. Course you could've sat there for an hour and posted the best of 20, time will tell on that. I look forward to seeing you in the raid Forte.

noticed when he posted the screen shot.

From my personal experience I've noticed that I actually do less working in chain lightning. I actually ran 2 different times on the dummy, one with and one without and the run with chain in the rotation did significantly less damage (ontop of running outa mana wicked fast). Matter of fact, here's the screenshot of the go with chain lightning in the rotation -



I was trying to get all the damage out in one mana bar, so as my mana went low I started using chain less and less just to be able to keep going. My only theory on why the DPS was so significantly different would be the totem of electrifying wind. It procs off of Lightning bolt but not Chain, so it would have a less uptime with less lightning bolt use.

Oh and about Binkenstein, I actually have read a lot of his stuff. Elitist jerks is like my go-to spot, I just didn't remember that it was his name in the post. I realized that when I went searching for it last night.

KRT has a problem with extended skill characters such as Sobeyit. I believe you set the threshold at "wtfpwnamazin" but it needs to be bumped up a couple of notches.
