Transfers
We are about cool people to hang out with, not progress. We call raids early, because it's 10:40 and raid time ends at 11. We will give those cloth healing gloves to a paladin and kick the priest who makes drama about it (it's an item, get over it). It's $25 to transfer and a 30 day lockout, so if that's what you want you should check to make sure we're not filled to the brim with your class.
Noone can promise you a spot in the guild, but if you're not something we're overfull on and you're a cool guy, it's probably the safest bet in the universe. But it's your bet, I'm guilt free having said this. You're welcome to chat with our officers to find out their personality, we'll even invite you on vent to chat, make sure we'll mesh before you spend.
Closed classes
While we're not closed on any specific class, we are almost full in general. We want to recruit to the point where everyone is sitting at some point during the raid week. You'll have to ask us or check our DKP page to divine what we're feeling light on lately. We do reject applicants because we're "too full" on a class. You can re-app successfully if you are correct when you believe our fullness has changed.
Attendance
Since we're mostly full, we're going to be a little bit pickier - despite being casual, we'd like persons who can pledge high attendance. A reminder: We raid three nights, for about three hours each. Full attendance with us is barely 30% attendance with a hardcore raid guild (five/six hours five/six nights = three times as much raiding).
Read this paragraph carefully:
We're understanding as to real life things coming up, but there's a difference between, say, being an EMT where you're effectively always on call, being a teacher where tonight's PTA night (and you could post about that in advance, those don't ambush you), and being a parent and your kid broke his or her leg jumping down the bannister so you had to spend the night in the emergency room.
Need to contact an officer?

PS: If you contact an officer during a bad time (hint: raiding is probably a busy time), you fail at WoW. While we're not all rocket surgeons, hassling an officer when they're at their busiest does sort of scream massive amounts of stupid. If you must, hassle me, and do not apologize for interrupting what I'm doing, or ask if I have a second, or anything. Ask your question, and if I can find five seconds of downtime before I forget it, I'll respond. If that's unacceptable, or you flip out / repeat your question, I refer you to the second sentence of this paragraph.
That may sound jerkfaced, but understand, there have been people who flip out at us when we kind of have pressing things and 24 people expecting our attention, so. It bears saying. If it seems common sensey to you, please app to us. If it doesn't, or you didn't read this, I hate you.

Hey... but what about..?

PVP
I hate that I even need to make a post about this - I thought with the advent of arenas and queue as you like, the days of "the guild" versus "the PVPs" were done. Raid time is the water's edge - what you do around that we'd like to help the guild, but hey, it's your free time, and I enjoy PVP too. If you are apping to us as a raid member, if you want to raid with us... then you better be hungry. Because I'm turning down hungry people for raid slots, and I'm not about to have someone who isn't hungry to raid deprive someone like that. It's not fair.
Everyone is expected to be available to group and standing around just like us at 7:45. If you can't get home until 8:10, we're not talking about you - that's cool, we understand. Pay those bills, we'll have a slot for you, you're hungry to raid. But if you're the guy who has been on for an hour and we need to send you a tell, personally inviting you to the raid? We're talking about you.
PVP specs
If you bend a PVE spec to get this or that PVP goodie, we're not strict, but when your DPS is 50% of someone else's, I'm going to be angry at the first large moving target. If you're recruited to heal or tank, and you aren't specced to heal or tank (since I think the previous bit covers DPS) when raid time comes around, we'll just go recruiting for someone who can manage it.
