There's some hit there, but it's -way- low. I think Boomkins get 4 or 6% from talents (it's late, and the intertubes aren't helping me figure out if it actually got increased or the tooltip is just wrong), plus IFF for another 3%, meaning they need 8 or 11% to be capped. 167 hit = 6.37%, leaving him a bit low. Cap's either 210 or 263 now for a Boomkin w/ IFF and BoP, so 43 or 96 more hit is needed to be capped, meanwhile there's gemming for things other than hit, and no precision on gloves... and Spell Pen on the cloak? (correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Spell Pen's useless in PvE at the moment since most bosses right now have no resistances to burn through... good for PvP tho)

Also, I'm curious why the +30sp, 2% reduced threat meta instead of the +21 Crit, +3% Crit dmg meta.

Skill may be there, but I'm kinda curious why some of the gemming / enchanting choices.

Lastly, I'm not really a Boomkin spec expert, but why Brambles, why not max out Improved Insect Swarm (Wrath and Starfire are bread and butter of boomkin dmg I think?), and Nature's Reach maxxed will probably be key to stay in range of bosses in Uld. (I should know, I tried to come into the guild without having my fire spec's range talent maxxed, heh)

Ok, really lastly this time: All that said, I'm a mage, thus I love Boomkins. Gimme a Boomkin and an Ele Shaman in a raid and I'm about as happy as I can be.

*Edit for me not realizing Blizz made it really ridiculously easy to go from a Resto -> Boomkin set by further increasing the Druid hit talents*
*Edit for me double-checking and not being able to find if BoP was increased to 3/6% hit from 2/4% or if it's just a tooltip issue. Anybody have an answer? The intertubes are givin me conflicting answers and I can't find a blue post about it*

Hi there!

I'm certainly not an officer (been there, done that, no ty) but I raid as a boomkin from time to time and rather curious as to your gearing and spec, assuming, of course, the current armory shows what you raid in. There things that show you know what you're doing and a few that leave me feeling like ?_? Going to be nit-picky, but will try not to go overboard:

Helm:
Why're you using this meta instead of the chaotic skyflare one? (crit and crit damage). Good on gemming for hit, since you are still not at the hit cap (263 hit rating when you have 4% from talents, also assuming you get other hit rating buffs in raid). Good on the glyph.

Neck: Good, might want to aim for one with hit rating.
Shoulders: Good, nice to see the enchant.
Cloak: Spell pen? Why don't you use haste there instead?
Chest: not enchanted, otherwise alright.
Bracers: top notch enchanted, nice.
Weap: enchanted, and it has hit, good choice so far.
Idol: Good, my personal preference is the shooting star one (increased sp for starfire)
Gloves: good, but no enchant (20 hit rating?)
Belt: Good, buckle is good, but why are you gemming for crit instead of hit?
Legs: Good, though again, if you're not hit capped, I'd double up and use 2 hit gems instead instead of trying to get the socket bonus. Most of them are worthless.

Boots: good, though why the vitality enchant over Icewalker or Tuskarrs Vitality?
Rings: Both are good, though neither are enchanted?
Trinkets: The Majestic figurine one was a previous BiS for trees, but you'd be must better off running hVH until the mar of the war prisoner dropped since (sorry, broken record here) you're a bit far off from the hit cap.

As far as your spec it seems pretty close to cookie cutter, though I'm not sure if as far as mana regen goes, you know that intensity (resto) is a much better choice than dreamstate (balance).

Anyways, you can probably get a better look at what I'm talking about by looking at my armory here:

I'm back at being one point shy of the hit cap (262, ugh) after putting tuskarr's vitality on my boots again, and not quite sure what to do about it yet. My main spec is resto, and some of that (bracers and boots) were old resto items, meanwhile I still use a bunch for healing anyways (weapon, offhand, belt, rings, and the uld10 trink).

Theyre not quite sure if the changes to the talent Balance of Power makes the new hit cap 8% instead of 10% for a boomkin:
