Add ReplyI have a pretty much cookie cutter ret spec right now, 0/17/54. Contains all the necessary dps talents from retribution and a few from prot with the great utility of divine sacrifice to alleviate raid damage when necessary, Frozen Blows anyone? Only been playing the spec for a few weeks, on this char, it's all I know and I'm loving it. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one that loves playing a ret pally and there seems to be quite a few more than necessary, but it's the most fun I've had in this game (after ~3 some years) so I'm stickin' to it for better or for worse.
Edit: So, based on what I've seen requested on other apps around here, you guys would like to know more about what I know about my class and how I play in raids. As a retribution paladin, my rotation is FCFS (First Come First Serve), with a complicated set of cooldowns it's impossible to have any one set rotation, but there is a priority order that must be followed for maximum dps that goes Crusader Strike > Hand of Wrath (if applicable) > Judgement > Divine Storm > Consecration (if mana allows) > Exorcism. In practice it seems to start off with CS > Judge > DS > Cons > CS > Exo, the rest I haven't memorized but that seems to be the common starting rotation. I use a mod called SHIT (Serious Help In Timing, I know) that shows a window with the next action to take according to a priority list you set and the remaining cooldown on it. If mana becomes an issue on a fight I'll cheat a bit and use judge before CS or lose cons, but it hasn't been an issue too much at all.
Not sure how 3.2 will change things up, won't be using seal of blood anymore in favor of SoV I believe and will have to change my spec to include Seals of the Pure, a 5-point talent in the first tier of Holy.
As far as raid awareness goes, I consider myself above average at it. Though I haven't been to Ulduar, I've seen a babillion videos of it. On something like Mimiron during the phases with mines, I tend to keep my camera facing away from me so I have a clear view of where I'm going to mouse run in order to avoid getting hit by them. Always been good with explosion debuffs and running out of fires and getting to necessary adds or safe zones asap.

Yes to ventrilo, no on the mic, thin walls in a city full of old people = bad.
Typical Weekly Playtime:
I should be able to make every raid, things could come up once in a while but that's true for everyone (I think). Right now, for July, I'm taking a class that runs pretty late, gets out officially 25 minutes before raid time and I have a 15 minute drive home, been getting out about 30-40 minutes early though, so the latest I would sign on is 5-10 before raid.

Previous Guilds:
Last major guild I was in was Odyssey on Lightbringer, was a pretty lame guild though, pre-3.1, never did sarth3d or anything, just naxx and maly. Before that I was in the horde guild Expletive on Bloodscalp, back in BC, and while I was in cleared everything up to BT, never saw the plateau unfortunately, and before that just some other small raiding guilds, Team Sleep on Drak'thul before BT was even out, and then Nex Pro Inhonesto and Invictus back in vanilla clearing everything up through BWL, there seems to be a sad pattern of me never seeing late-game content like AQ & SWP, plan on fixing that, with you guys hopefully.

Well, a few months ago my friend Solely was emofacing on in a guild on a server somewhere and was too lazy to browse the guild recruitment forums so I did it for him and stumbled upon this awesome little guild called Heresiarch that A) didn't seem like retards and
had what he deemed a desirable raid schedule. At the time I wasn't playing very hardcore (though I have played hardcore before, even though I haven't done much in later patches, the early stuff I did do was fairly bleeding edge at the time), was just fiddling around on alliance, decided to come play with him on Drenden. As it turns out, this is definitely not a high pop server, as I should have realized before. Was able to gear up pretty quickly on my alliance mage becuase there were pugs running all the time through everything, was hoping to do the same here but, as fate would have it, such a thing is for the most part impossible. Been trying for a couple of weeks to find pugs or a crappy guild stuck in naxx somewhere I could tag along to until I was ready to app, but it just isn't happening. So! My gear is god-awful but I must try regardless, you guys are why I'm here!Link us your Armory:

Just a 20 yo college student from SoCal majoring in english, thinking about getting a major in history as well before all is said and done. Most of my hobbies are pretty bookish, I fuckin love basketball though, and I consider myself a movie buff though the definition varies depending on who you're talking to.
