Spec:
Every place I've looked has told me to put 4/5 in Shadow Weaving. This makes the most sense to me as 100% and 80% are interchangeable when you cast as often as you do in PvE. Can someone take the 5/5 side?
Spirit Tap vs. Blackout. EJ forums, this forum, priest forums are all telling me Spirit Tap is just as good as Blackout for end game raids. Who is raiding at lvl 69? What mobs in any instance give either Experience or Honor? Aren't those the only two things it procs off of? If those ARE the only things its procing off then wouldn't it be 100% useless in raiding specs? What am I missing?

It seems the EJ forums are horrible for SP information. A lot of people taut them as the codex of WoW but man, a lot of crap in there.
That's all I can remember to ask so we'll start there. I am sure I will think of more.

You dont have to actually gain honor/exp, IE it works at 70, basically if the mob/player is green to you you get spirit tap to proc, the real problem with it is "when you kill a mob" actually means when you kill the damn mob, you have to do the deathblow which is near impossible for you to rely on, at the same time blackout stuns, but hey what can you really stun while raiding? so yeah when they say they are equal they mean they are both shit so just pick one.

At some point, you have enough +spellhit that you have talent points to spare. 5/5 Shadow Weaving won't hurt then.

That just means that the mobs need to be green+ to you, level-wise. Just because you have the maximum experience doesn't mean that you aren't earning any, it just means that they aren't recorded.
Spirit Tap procs in BT.
The reason that they are more-or-less equivalent is that all bosses are immune to Blackout, while some bosses (Tidewalker, for example) have adds that, when killed, can trigger Spirit Tap. Both of them are very marginal benefits in a raid, though.

I prefer EJ, but check out www.shadowpriest.com also.

Thanks for the infos you two. Knowing that about Spirit Tap makes me feel a ton better about EJ as well. Now if I can just get them to update Face Melting 101. I WISH Misery gave 5% from all sources.
I'll be back in here later with something else. :)

So, Merph, interested in returning to raiding? We need another pro-shadow priest so that I can go back to Holy. :-)

We shall see though, I am gaining great lengths without getting into Karazhan without falling back on PvP gear (except weapons). I just think the gap remaining will be too vast without T4 raids.

It's what I have now. After dailies I spend time in PvP and Blackout has been worth it. If I ever switch to raiding more than PvP I will more than likely go ST as I cannot simply die to gain my mana back. :(

Kara is still run, just not as a raid. It really just needs someone to organize it and pull it together. The officers, for the most part, are exhausted from the regular raids, so don't really feel like doing it. Anyone can volunteer to organize a regular Kara run on non-raid times, though.
Check out my gear. Over half of it is crafted or attainable from outside of T6 raids. The right T4-geared raider is a lot more useful than someone who doesn't understand gear itemization and just goes for whatever purples they can wear.

If you'd check out my gear (and rep) you'd see I am doing just that.
It may sound like a cop out but if the interest in Kara was there it would be going weekly. I empathize with raiders not wanting to ever go back in that place and won't hold out for it. It's one of those 'it would be nice' but it isn't needed to attain my goal. Just would help to attain it faster.. It would be more worth my time to go grind up the mats/rep/badges(and to a lesser extent honor) for an item that is better than the Kara equivalent then to do all the work it would take to get a Kara run and have it not drop and I think that's where this guild is anyway.
Hey whatev, I made my bed, I can lay in it. Just means more Dailies and grinding for my goal!

I would if I knew which your main was. :-)

There's usually Kara runs every week, either for alts or for mains that need badges.

The only videos I've seen rely on making a jump, and I fail epicly at jumping.

I will keep an eye out for Kara runs. I have half a heart to try and get them started myself so we'll see if I ever grow a pair and actually do it. Even if I don't need the gear, I desperately need badges and Karazhan has that in spades.
I haven't watched the video, only read the tricks. Of course forums are full of people saying, "Oh it was so easy..." but I am far off from trying it anyway. :

I don't know, maybe. I definitely can't play much until this summer semester is over, in about 2 weeks. Maybe I'll reapply, who knows ;)

I'm 2/3 FSW and 2/2 Spellstrike. From what I read, some of those pieces are best-in-slot until Sunwell. I also have the crafted pieces from BT, so that's 6 items that one could have without stepping foot in the place.
The badge gear is also kick-ass. The gloves and wand are almost best-of-slot, and the off-hand is almost there.

The only one that I've seen relies on the mobs in the rooms to Maiden. Are there others?
