In all seriousness, toys made in China are no more dangerous than those made here in the good 'ol US and A. What is really going on with all this lead paint/GHB nonsense is a good old fashioned helping of economic protectionism fueled by fear and mis-information. The materials used in the domestic production of toys and whatnot are identical to those made in China.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, do not succumb to your fears and believe that these toy issues are part of a clandestine war where the "Chinese" are intentionally poisoning our children in an attempt to cripple our future.
Their kids are playing with toys made some materials of the ones that are sent here. This is not some huge conspiracy.
If you plan on only buying toys made in the US for your kids this holiday season, congratulations, you just fell victim to media propagated fear-mongering and blatant economic protectionism.

I have a very simular experience, after my cousin ingested a part of a toy that was never meant to be eaten, he too became incredibly ill. While much like Aqua Dots, parents can't be bothered to monitor their children, it should be up to the toy companies to make everything at least 5'x5', and coated in soft foam.
But back to my cousin, after injesting the parts and reporting this, I came to find out that this has been happening all over the world, mainly with children that have been dropped on their heads. The list of suspected individuals is topped by this character below:

His name is unknown, but his ways are always the same.
After looking into the product, and finding thier leader above, I too fell prey to his cool demeanor, those glasses reminding me of another childhood icon, that thumping drum, I too thought it might be cool to eat batteries. I was wrong.
So be warned when eating small objects that were never meant to be eaten in the first place, because it's not paranoia when they ARE actually out to get you..

Also, while it's narrowly possible to die from ingesting too much, it's not like GHB is a subtle "make america stupid" chemical... I don't see how making all of a few dozen kids sick and maybe putting a couple in a coma constitutes economic warfare - it's not going to cripple our labor force...
Barn & Yober - American factories make mistakes, too. However, there are fewer made because of careful quality control; when your brand is on the line, cutting corners hurts you far more in the long run, and American business owners understand that. So you're both kinda right.

Wait, wait. Are you saying Hasbro and all of Corporate America have NEVER cut corners or put profits ahead of safety, all on the say so of your grandfather?

The Chinese are communist. Since they are making toys for sale and profit, capitalist ideas, it stands to reason there would be a 100% correlation. So. I stand by my previous statement - the room full of Sherlock Holmes are F@#@ing retarded.
Let me share a startling fact with you -
On the last day of everyone's life, they breathed. Clearly, breathing is a long term detriment to our health.

I mean, are the Chinese sitting over there going..
"Haha! You Stupid Americans, we have you now you paint eaters!"
I mean, if it was something that was meant to be ingested, then maybe..
..if your kids can't resist the yummy fruit flavour of lead paint chips, don't give it to them.

Have you considered a degree in political science, Ash? I suspect it may be a bit of a walk for you, and for employment, like gerbils, paper lined walls always look good.

My post wasn't related to hasbro has a whole cutting corners or anything about profits ...my comment was directly related to the recall of product in the last year all comeing from the same assembly line. My grandfather wasnt defending hasbro as a company since the chinese factory is owned by them....was just stateing that said factory was the root of most of the issues

Many U.S companies make worse mistakes and get a 1 day editorial done on them or less. Hi bridgestone firestone tires killing people for years, na its ok we recalled those it's totaly not our fault if they weren't all returned.

And i'm sure there are many more things that could kill or harm you out there that no one has died from yet so there are no recalls. Try to remain objective, generalizing an entire country because CNN said so is ridiculous, i think we all remember CNN showing us pictures of possible nukes in iraq... The towers collapsing at nauseum when the u.s was deciding on war on iraq.(who were not responsible for the event)
Many Governments have a bad history of creating panic/fear in their populace to get them to act differently. The media/government sensationalizes everything if it suits them, i'm wondering if this would be so huge if christmas wasn't coming up. China/Asia is where a lot if not most of the U.S imports come from. The U.S and Canada because i dont want to seem anti american have a lot to gain by having ppl shopping at home this time of season.
I'm not saying aquadots are safe, but i'm opposed to mass stereotyping.

30% of polled parents aren't buying their kids ANY toys this Christmas because, *GASP*, some toys had a tad too much lead in the paint for regulations? They probably grew up with pure lead paint chipping off the walls for the most part themselves - the kids are more likely to die on the drive to school than from those toys.

I would venture to guess this has nothing to do w/ lead paint or GHB...
(just to clarify for any alarmists who may think otherwise)
